As RedState previously reported, President Donald Trump has illegal immigration and crime crackdowns on his mind, and last Friday, during an informal White House presser, he touted the successes so far from his federalization of D.C. law enforcement.
During his remarks, Trump also talked about how he thought it'd be a good idea to maybe expand the mission to other blue cities with crime problems, like Chicago and New York City.
The Windy City, though, appeared to be most top of mind for Trump, who stated that "Chicago's a mess, you have an incompetent mayor - grossly incompetent - and we'll straighten that one out probably next. That will be our next one after this."

The "incompetent mayor" Trump is referring to, of course, is woketivist Brandon Johnson, who has managed to do something once previously believed to be impossible: make himself look even worse than his predecessor, former Mayor Lori Lightfoot.
Johnson is, of course, not amused, even though some in his city are pleading for the help. Nor is Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker (D), who held a press conference on Monday where he stood alongside Johnson and other "leaders" and talked about Trump's Friday remarks:
“Mr. President, do not come to Chicago,” Pritzker said. “You are neither wanted here nor needed here.”
If the president does deploy the National Guard in Chicago, residents face an “unprecedented and difficult time,” Pritzker said, urging residents to protest peacefully.
“We will see the Trump administration in court,” Pritzker said. “The state of Illinois is ready to stand against this military deployment with every peaceful tool we have.”
Though he used the event to give a warm-up speech well ahead of a prospective run for president in 2028, the unintended consequences of Pritzker holding the news conference at Trump International Hotel and Tower - Chicago even as he claimed he was "living rent-free" in Trump's head could not be overlooked by a cameraman who was filming the goings on.
"I know that I live rent-free in the president's head. I wish he would spend some time in Chicago so that he can see what a lovely city we have," Pritzker proclaimed. But watch what the cameraman did next:
It's really comical when you think about it. I mean, not long after Trump won the election in 2024, Pritzker was promoting himself as a key Resistance leader against the second Trump administration, vowing to fight Trump every step of the way.
And he's also gotten involved in some issues that literally had nothing to do with him, as we saw when he virtue-signaled over the Kilmar Abrego-Garcia case, announcing he was looking into a state-level boycott of El Salvador. He also inserted himself into the redistricting battle between Texas and California, again positioning himself as some type of savior of democracy, when nothing could be further from the truth.

If anything, the "rent-free" situation is the other way around, as evidenced by Pritzker situating himself where he did on Monday.
Editor's Note: President Trump is leading America into the "Golden Age," and Democrats like Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker can't stand it.
