We've seen some major wins on the illegal immigration issues in recent weeks. Several court decisions have gone in the administration's favor, the Alligator Alcatraz is up and running, Democrats are ascending new heights of hysteria daily - always a good sign. But, according to the inestimable Charlie Kirk, speaking on his show on Monday, some within the administration and the Republican party may be considering throwing all that away.
How? One word: Amnesty. Watch:
Here's the key statement from Mr. Kirk:
It is of great urgent necessity that we cover what is coming next. And, yes, we are going to talk about Epstein, we're also going to have live coverage from the awful and the unspeakable tragedy happening in Kerr County near Hunt, Texas. This is a national tragedy with the flooding issue in Texas. But you would think that hey, we get 175 billion dollars for ICE, we're gonna get mass deportations. We're going to be able to have, now, the largest deportation effort ever. Yes, in theory.
But in practice, there's something else afoot. Literally the day before President Donald Trump was signing the Big, Beautiful Bill, I got a couple phone calls from people that you would call "members of the ruling class." A lot of money, and a lot of connections. They said, "Charlie, isn't this amazing, we passed the Big Beautiful Bill." I said, "Oh yes sir," and they said "Now, we need mass amnesty."
What?
This would be a mistake of Brobdingnagian proportions. This is not what we voted for. We've seen this show before, and we know how it ends. Now, a cautionary note is in order; Charlie Kirk, while his reputation is solid, does not present any names. The Trump administration has not made any statement about mass amnesties, other than a couple of comments from the president about the food service and hospital industries; Charlie Kirk does present one such, in the video shown above, where President Trump said:
People who have worked in a farm for 14-15 years, and they get thrown out, pretty viciously, we can't do it. We've got to work with the farmers. And people that have hotels, and leisure properties too. We're going to work with them, we're going to work very strong and smart. And we're going to put you in charge, we're going to make you responsible. And I think that's going to make a lot of people happy.
This will make a lot of people unhappy, Mr. President, and those people voted for you in no small part because you promised to end this, to enforce the law.
No amnesty. Illegal aliens are here illegally. We cannot reward them for breaking the law. That's what any such amnesty would do, and it would just ramp up incentives for any new Democrat administration - and there will, inevitably, be one again someday - to once more throw open the borders, and it would likewise ramp up incentives for people to once more illegally flood in.
This cannot happen.

The backlash has already started:
Let's hope the president and his administration stick to the rule of law.
This is a developing story. We will bring you updates as events warrant.
Thanks to President Trump, illegal immigration into our great country has virtually stopped. Despite the radical left's lies, new legislation wasn't needed to secure our border, just a new president.
