The Department of Justice announced that it has issued nearly 20 subpoenas to doctors and clinics that have been involved in performing transgender medical procedures on children. 

In the DOJ announcement on Wednesday, the department said its investigation is looking into things like healthcare fraud, false statements, and more.

Quoting Attorney General Pamela Bondi, "Medical professionals and organizations that mutilated children in the service of a warped ideology will be held accountable by this Department of Justice," it added in the release.

DOJ Chief of Staff Chad Mizelle shared news about the investigation at the Federal Trade Commission's workshop in Washington, D.C., on the "Dangers of 'Gender Affirming-Care' For Minors."

The Daily Wire reported that:

Mizelle shared that the DOJ has issued nearly 20 subpoenas against clinics that are engaged in transgender transition attempts, noting that the DOJ's investigations include healthcare fraud, false statements, and more. 

Mizelle urged Americans to come forward if they could provide information about deceptive practices in the transgender medicine industry, saying Wednesday: "If you are someone who has been harmed, please come forward and let us know."

In a clip from the FTC workshop, Mizelle said the DOJ is "going after false and deceptive claims by non-profits and medical associations that have provided false and deceptive or scientifically dubious assertions about transition-related medical interventions."

A description of the workshop said that "Doctors, medical ethicists, whistleblowers, detransitioners, and parents of detransitioners will share perspectives grounded in research, expertise, and personal experience."

FTC Chairman Andrew Ferguson pointed to the insanity of gender ideology that boomed under former President Joe Biden's administration, Daily Wire's Mary Margaret Olohan wrote on X. 

"[Ferguson] kicks off the workshop by sharing the Biden administration's efforts to push these procedures for kids, prioritizing ideology over facts and science," her post read. "He also shares the experiences of detransitioners like @detransaqua, pushed to irreversibly remove her healthy breasts in an attempt to become a boy."

As he noted, President Trump signed several Executive Orders in January 2024 related to the gender ideology craziness, with one of them "directing all federal agencies to work toward terminating the ability for children under 18 to receive 'irreversible medical interventions' as a treatment for gender dysphoria."

The Supreme Court of the United States has also weighed in on transgender procedures on kids when it recently upheld Tennessee's law barring "gender-affirming care" (including irreversible mutilation) for so-called "transgender" minors, which specifically rejected claims that "transgender" people are part of a protected class.
