Rescissions, rescissions. One cabinet nomination that Democrat leaders like Chuck Schumer went out of their way to try to block was that of Russ Vought to lead the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for the second time. The left is about to find out why that was the case. Russ doesn’t care about your feelings; his only goal is to end the reign of the bureaucracy and cut wasteful spending. Vought has been DOGE since he was in diapers.
One thing I can say for certain, the rescission man cometh. To be fully transparent, I worked for Director Vought during President Trump’s first administration. He is mission-focused, clear-eyed, and relentless when it comes to OMB’s mission to accomplish the president’s vision. You’ll notice, if you haven’t already, President Trump’s cabinet has changed a lot this term—that is not the case at OMB, where Russ is back in charge once again. There’s a reason for that. Director Vought, along with legendary General Counsel Mark Paoletta, worked hard during the first administration to accomplish Trump’s goals. While some cabinet officials were trying to change the president’s mind or subvert his agenda, Vought and Paoletta found a way to get things done.
This week, during an interview with Steve Bannon’s “War Room,” Director Vought highlighted the rescissions package OMB will be sending to Congress:
“We're preparing to send up a rescissions package to Congress that includes the $1 billion rescission to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, PBS, and NPR. This is the first of the rescissions we intend to send up. More is coming.”
Every Republican member of Congress should be a shoo-in for this vote. A rescissions package, if passed, allows Congress to claw back funds that were previously spent through prior legislation. We have improperly funded PBS and NPR for decades—those days are swiftly coming to an end. It’s time for Big Bird to punch his own ticket.

Both NPR and PBS have been a place to squander taxpayer dollars on leftist pet projects. The White House on Monday took direct aim at both organizations, and the examples of waste are egregious:

The NPR and PBS taxpayer-funded gravy train is nearing its end. OMB is taking action and sending a rescissions package to the Hill. It’s time for Republicans to act. I have it on good authority that Big Bird is very nervous about his television future.
