We have an update on that shooting we reported on in Salt Lake City at the "No Kings" protest on Saturday. At that time the police said that one person had been "critically injured"  and a person of interest was in custody.

The police have now provided more details, while noting they are still investigating and the case is ongoing.

Arthur Folasa Ah Loo, 39, was killed in the shooting.

The police have arrested Arturo Gamboa, 24, and charged him with murder. But there was a strange twist in the facts -  it wasn't Gamboa who pulled the trigger.

Two "peacekeepers" who were part of the event told police they saw Gamboa with a rifle.

The men told police they saw Gamboa move away from the crowd and begin manipulating an AR-15-style rife, prompting them to draw their guns and order him to drop the weapon, police said.

Instead, Gamboa ran into the crowd, holding his gun in "a firing position," police said. In response, one of the "peacekeepers" fired three shots, one of which struck Gamboa and another which hit Ah Loo, according to police.

Police later found Gamboa in the crowd. They said Gamboa had a gas mask, black clothing, and a backpack.

Gamboa did not fire the shot that fatally struck Ah Loo, but he still faces the murder charge because detectives "developed probable cause that Gamboa acted under circumstances that showed a depraved indifference to human life, knowingly engaged in conduct that created a grave risk of death and ultimately caused the death of an innocent community member," police said.

It seems odd that they haven't identified the "peacekeeping" people so far, although they identified Gamboa, who did not fire his weapon. We'll have to see what the investigation reveals.

One "peacekeeper" fired three shots, and those were the only shots, according to Salt Lake City Police Chief Brian Redd. Reporters asked Chief Redd about whether there would be any charges for the "peacekeepers" and what training they may have had. He said the investigation was continuing.

The man who was killed, Arthur Folasa Ah Loo, was a designer who appeared on Project Runway.

There was also violence on Saturday in multiple locations including in Los Angeles, as well as at ICE facilities in Portland where rioters broke open the front door of the facility, and Tukwila, Washington where DHS and local police lit up the anti-ICE people who were barricading their driveway.
