Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr. shut down rumors about his personal political goals, claiming it's just an effort to drive a wedge between him and President Donald Trump.
In a lengthy post on X, Kennedy addressed the rumors, stating that he wanted to make it crystal clear he has no plans to run for president in 2028 and that his loyalty lies with President Trump, the man who he said has made good on every single promise he's made to Make America Healthy Again.

"The swamp is in full panic mode," Kennedy said. "DC lobby shops are laboring fiercely to drive a wedge between President Trump and me, hoping to thwart our team from dismantling the status quo and advancing @POTUS' Make America Healthy Again agenda."
"They're pushing the flat-out lie that I'm running for president in 2028. Let me be clear: I am not running for president in 2028. My loyalty is to President Trump and the mission we've started," he added, before he appeared to defend a longtime aide, his HHS deputy chief of staff. "Their attacks on my staff, especially Stefanie Spear — a fierce, loyal warrior for MAHA who proudly serves in the Trump Administration and works every day to advance President Trump's vision for a healthier, stronger America — are proof we're over the target. We'll keep moving forward, we'll keep delivering wins, and no smear campaign will stop us."
"President Trump is delivering on every promise beyond my wildest dreams — ending war, protecting free speech, rebuilding American industry and the American middle class, delivering transparency and gold standard science, and breaking the grip of entrenched interests," Kennedy said. "The president has made himself the answer to my 20-year prayer that God would put me in a position to end the chronic disease epidemic — and that's exactly what my team and I will do until the day he leaves office."
The post comes amid a Politico report that Spear has allegedly been "laying the groundwork" for Kennedy to make another run at the White House.

Spear previously served as press secretary for Kennedy when he attempted to run for president in 2024.
Kennedy recently ousted all 17 members of the Advisory Committee for Immunization Practices (ACIP), which advises the CDC on "the safety, efficacy and clinical need of the nation's vaccines," as my RedState colleague Bob Hoge reported.
The report referenced an editorial for the Wall Street Journal, in which Kennedy explained the recent move.
Vaccines have become a divisive issue in American politics, but there is one thing all parties can agree on: The U.S. faces a crisis of public trust. Whether toward health agencies, pharmaceutical companies, or vaccines themselves, public confidence is waning.
He continued:
Today, we are taking a bold step in restoring public trust by totally reconstituting the Advisory Committee for Immunization Practices (ACIP). We are retiring the 17 current members of the committee, some of whom were last-minute appointees of the [former President Joe] Biden administration. Without removing the current members, the current Trump administration would not have been able to appoint a majority of new members until 2028.
