As the Schumer Shutdown now hits the nine-day mark, the Senate Minority leader from New York shows no signs of ending his Quixotic quest, and as we reported, is actually gloating over the pain he and the Democratic party are inflicting on millions of Americans. On Wednesday, he said in an interview that “every day gets better for us.”
Really, Chuck? Republicans Excoriate Schumer After He Makes Damning Admission About His Shutdown
President Donald Trump, presiding over a Cabinet meeting Thursday, brought home some harsh reality to the Democrat leader, noting his administration is taking the opportunity to get rid of some favorite leftist slush funds:
…we're only cutting Democrat programs, but we're gonna start that… but we'll be cutting some very popular Democrat programs that aren't popular with Republicans, frankly, because that's the way it works.
They wanted to do this, so we'll give a little taste of their own medicine.

As to Schumer’s tone-deaf quote saying things were getting better for the Dems due to their refusal to vote "yes" on a simple clean continuing resolution, Trump said Chuck might want to rethink that one. He also pointed out Schumer's hypocrisy, noting that the New Yorker was against shutdowns before he was for them:
But Chuck Schumer proclaimed this morning that “every day it gets better for them.”
No, every day it's actually getting worse for them, and they’re having a rebellion in the Democratic Party because they want to stop… I watched last night, like 10 different times over the years, he [Schumer] said, you can’t shut down government, you can’t shut down, and now he's the one that shut it down.
So this is a confession that he's acting, not to serve the people, but to serve the partisan interests of his party. And I don't think he’s serving them well, because they're way down.
As we’ve reported, meanwhile, failed presidential candidate Kamala Harris has been busy on her book tour spouting expletives and trying to rewrite the history of the 2024 election. “It was the tightest, closest presidential election in the 21st century,” she ludicrously declared.
Trump was having none of it:
Look, they just lost an election in a landslide. You know, it was interesting. I watched Kamala—a sad figure—I watched her the other day saying, “the election was very close." I said, "No, the election was a landslide. We won the popular vote by millions. We won the electoral college by, I think, 312 or 315 to 220-something.
His Kamala comments come at the 55-second mark:
The Democrats are clueless if they think celebrating the shutdown is a winning strategy. Trump is just going to slice and dice their favorite leftist programs, and eventually, the American people are going to get tired of their grandstanding.
So far, they've accomplished… bupkus.
