NextImg:Trump Claps Back at Claims Iran Moved Nuclear Material Before Attack—'We Got It'

Donald Trump said Wednesday that the widespread claims that Iran moved uranium from its nuclear facilities before the U.S. Saturday night obliteration of the sites are false and that the regime would not have been able to carry out such a feat.

Speaking at a press conference at the NATO summit at The Hague, Trump said, "No, just the opposite."

We think we hit them him so hard and so fast they didn't get to move it.

And if you knew about that material, it's very hard and very dangerous to move. Many people, they call it dust, but it's very, very heavy. It's very, very hard to move. And they were way down, you know, they' 30 stories down. They're literally 30, 35 stories down underground.

We think we got it. We think it's covered with granite, concrete, and steel.

Even if they did move it, and the operation was a failure as so many would have you believe, I have a question: where would they enrich it? That would be a difficult task, considering the U.S. dropped fourteen 30,000 lb. bunker-busting bombs on their three main sites.

Hegseth to Leaker of Iran Attack Assessment: FBI Is Coming for You

Trump’s comments come as the mainstream media, notably CNN and the New York Times, have been trying to downplay the success of “Operation Midnight Hammer” and are claiming that the strikes did limited damage to the sites Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan. The president scoffed at that notion:

"They presented a report that wasn't finished," he said about the report Wednesday. "We're talking about something that took place three days ago."

He further claimed that the intelligence community can only take "a guess" at the damages because "they didn't see it."

"If you take a look at the pictures, if you take a look at how it's all black, if you know the fire and brimstone is all underground because it's granite and it's all underground, you don't show it. But even there, with all of that being said, the whole area — for 75 yards around the hole where it hit — is black with fire," he said.

The sites are "obliterated," the president maintained:

As we reported, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth vowed to sic the FBI on the leaker of a classified preliminary ("low confidence") report from the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) that claimed the attacks were not all that successful:

"When you actually look at the report, by the way it was a top secret report, it was preliminary, it was low confidence, you make assessments based on what you know," Hegseth told Townhall ahead of a meeting with the NATO delegation. "We're doing a leak investigation with the FBI right now because this information is for internal purposes, battle damage assessments."

Even if Iran did manage to sneak away some uranium, it's hard to see what they could actually do with it. And if they do try to rebuild their nuke facilities, the president has an answer for them:

A reporter asked Trump whether he would strike Iran again if it were to rebuild its nuclear facilities.

"Sure," came Trump's blunt response.
