President Donald Trump on Friday morning sharply criticized Iran for rejecting an opportunity to make a nuclear deal, and warned of further dire consequences following Israeli airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities.

Trump made the comments, blaming Iran for forcing Israel into taking preemptive action, on his Truth Social media platform.

"I gave Iran chance after chance to make a deal," the President said. "I told them, in the strongest of words, to 'just do it,' but no matter how hard they tried, no matter how close they got, they just couldn’t get it done."

Trump went on to state that he had warned Iran of Israel's military capability, noting that the United States' ally has "the best and most lethal military equipment anywhere in the World," provided in large part by America.

"Israel has a lot of it, with much more to come - and they know how to use it," he added.

READ MORE: Israeli Strikes on Iran Much Larger Than Initially Thought, Stunning Details Emerging

Israel Launches Multiple Strikes in Iran as Explosions Rock Tehran

RedState reported on the news of thunderous blasts rocking Iran in the predawn hours of Friday, with Israel swiftly claiming responsibility for the audacious strikes. Israeli sources described the attacks as a "preemptive strike" on Iran's nuclear program.

The assault followed months of futile diplomatic overtures by the Trump administration, rebuffed by Iran's defiant mullahs who appear to have sealed their fate.

Our colleague Bonchie reported late into the night that the attack on Iran was much larger than initially reported. Larger, but still maintaining precision to make it a stunningly successful mission.

The large-scale airstrike operation named "Rising Lion" targeted nuclear and military sites in Iran, achieving devastating accuracy. Key targets killed include Hossein Salami, commander-in-chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps; Mohammad Bagheri, chief of staff of Iran's armed forces; nuclear scientists Fereydoon Abbasi and Mohammad Tehranchi; and Major-General Gholamali Rashid.

President Trump indicated that some hardliners in Iran did try to speak out and convince leaders to make a nuclear deal before it was too late. He also suggested things are about to pick up.

"Certain Iranian hardliners spoke bravely, but they didn’t know what was about to happen. They are all DEAD now, and it will only get worse!" he said.

"There has already been great death and destruction, but there is still time to make this slaughter, with the next already planned attacks being even more brutal, come to an end," Trump concluded. "Iran must make a deal, before there is nothing left, and save what was once known as the Iranian Empire. No more death, no more destruction."

Iran countered the assault by launching a drone attack. As of this morning's posting, fresh attacks have reportedly been launched by Israel as the mission continues.
