NextImg:True Grit: Harmeet Dhillon Throws Down the Gauntlet

Certain Left Coast elected and appointed officials, along with sundry other nutcases, have been making thinly veiled threats against the Trump administration's Assistant Attorney General for the Justice Department's Civil Rights Division, Harmeet K. Dhillon. The AAG has responded in a fashion that would have done Bruce Campbell justice, stating that any threats are referred to the U.S. Marshals, and in effect, saying, "Let's go."

"Woke idiots" would appear to be the right term. Any Trump administration official has the capacity to make "woke idiots" spring up and start scurrying around like cockroaches when the light is turned on, and AAG Dhillon certainly has affected her fair share.

A Fox News story on Monday has more details:

Dhillon told Fox News Digital on Monday that Justice Department staff alerted her to concerning replies beneath a post she said came from a staffer for California Gov. Gavin Newsom that appeared to blame her for the fire at a South Carolina judge's home.

According to a screenshot, one ominous-sounding post from an X account that no longer exists declared, "I'm just saying Harmeet Dhillon's address can't be hard to find." The screenshot also showed that after the person was asked what they were saying, they replied, "I'll let you know in two weeks."

Those posts appear to have been made in reply to a post from Izzy Gardon, Newsom's communications director.

"A few weeks ago, one of Trump’s top DOJ officials publicly targeted this judge. Today, the judge’s home is on fire," Gardon wrote on Sunday, referring to South Carolina circuit court Judge Diane Schafer Goodstein, whose house burned on Saturday.

There is, as yet, no connection between the fire and the voter rolls cleanup effort, which Harmeet Dhillon is spearheading. We might note, indeed, that Izzy Gardon has only on Monday been proven to be full up to the ears of the stuff one finds under the south end of a northbound horse, as the investigation of the fire at Judge Goodstein's home was not deliberately set.

The X post continues:

I echo Chief Keel’s call for everyone to exercise good judgment and avoid sharing unverified information while the investigation continues.

That hasn't stopped the terminally woke, including the notoriously partisan Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT), from trying to tie the case to AAG Dhillon's efforts.

Democratic Sen. Chris Murphy of Connecticut retweeted Gardon's post, which included a screenshot of a post that Dhillon made last month.

In that post, Dhillon had declared, "This @TheJusticeDept’s @CivilRights will not stand for a state court judge’s hasty nullification of our federal voting laws. I will allow nothing to stand in the way of our mandate to maintain clean voter rolls. One Citizen, One Vote!"

While speaking to Fox News Digital, Dhillon indicated that Gardon and Murphy had placed a target on her back for doing her job, describing it as "grossly … outrageous, inappropriate," warning that in the present milieu it "could cause me physical harm."

It's a safe bet that Senator Murphy, who may or may not be the real-life incarnation of an internet meme, won't be issuing any retractions. Coming clean when he's been proven to be full of beans doesn't appear to be in his nature.

Harmeet K. Dhillon, if I may be so bold, seems to be a tough customer, and anyone who issues any threat at her, veiled or otherwise, may soon find themselves wishing they hadn't. She shares one thing in common with her boss, Attorney General Pam Bondi, that being a grim determination to get the job done. Her invocation of the "Fool Around, Find Out" (FAFO) principle says a lot. Harmeet Dhillon is tough and driven; in fact, she's tough enough to be an Alaskan, and I feel certain most of us here in the Great Land would make her welcome, should she ever decide to depart the Lower 48.

Until that day, we will continue to watch her efforts at improving American election security with great satisfaction and approval. Stay the course, AAG Dhillon!

Editor’s Note: The Schumer Shutdown is here. Rather than put the American people first, Chuck Schumer and the radical Democrats forced a government shutdown for healthcare for illegals. They own this.
