"Mad Max" Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) has surfaced again, and is in her usual form: Incoherent, unhinged, irrational, and nonsensical. She's an embarrassment to the people of her Congressional district, or she should be, if the voters in her district were capable of embarrassment; Mad Max's continued re-elections make that seem unlikely. She's also an embarrassment to the people of the state of California (the same disclaimer applies) and the United States of America.
Now she's calling for 25th Amendment proceedings against President Trump, based on the president's mental state. This is a piece of irony the size of the Virgo Supercluster.
Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., called for the 25th Amendment to the Constitution to be used against President Donald Trump on Friday, suggesting he was unfit, during a discussion about his removal of Lisa Cook from the Federal Reserve's Board of Governors.
"It is time to call for Article [Amendment] 25 of the Constitution of the United States of America to determine his unfitness, to determine that something’s wrong with this president. And I would suggest that we move very aggressively to talk about the danger to this country and to our democracy and not play around with this, because this is absolutely one of the most destructive things that this president could do," Waters said during an appearance on MSNBC's "The Weeknight."
Ah. MSNBC. Of course. There is no one so unhinged, so disconnected from reality, that someone on MSNBC won't give them a hearing.
But wait! There's more!
Trump removed Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook on Monday, alleging she misrepresented mortgage information.
"This stands to basically upend the entire economy. This stands to really deal with what is going to happen on Wall Street, what’s going to happen with interest rates, what’s going to happen with the president of the United States being able to make decisions that he will personally benefit from. And so the world, and certainly the United States, should be watching this very closely. As far as I’m concerned, we have to move very aggressively. It is not about lingering and trying to think that maybe the courts will help us," Waters said on MSNBC.
Yeah, this won't upend the entire economy. It just won't. But then, Mad Max has no idea how the economy works, except the portion of it that allows her to graft herself into a net worth of over a million dollars - that she admits to. Of course, that net worth rates her as something of a piker among Congressional Democrats.

But 25th Amendment proceedings? I don't care what you think of President Trump, but his mental acuity isn't at issue. He can be prickly, he can be mercurial, and he sometimes plays devil's advocate at awkward moments. He isn't polished and presidential like, say, Mitt Romney, or Jeb!, or any of the other polished, presentable, collegial losers that have run for president in the past, and lost.
No, Mad Max's bloviating aside, her only real problem vis-à-vis President Trump is this: He won. She hates that, and she lets the press know, making loud pronouncements to that effect any time she can wedge herself in front of a camera.
Of course, outside of California's 43rd Congressional District, nobody has taken Maxine Waters seriously since the late Mesozoic. It's a safe bet that President Trump isn't worried.
