Good morning, and welcome to RedState's "Morning Minute" — a brief glimpse at which stories are trending at the moment and a look ahead at what the day may bring. Consider this your one-stop shop for news to kickstart your day.
Black Journalists at the NABJ Try to Hold Trump Accountable; It Goes As Well As Expected
What Black voters received were answers to the concerns they have been expressing for three years, and some policy prescriptions that might give them some relief. That's infinitely more than a show with Megan Thee Stallion twerking, and feel-good bromides over the first "Black" female candidate.

In short, it is what it is. Enjoy the ride and laugh a little. We'll see how it turns out in November.
WATCH: JD Vance Energizes Rallygoers During Western Trail Swing to Glendale, Arizona
In a lighthearted callback to a supporter-favorite, Donald Trump line, Vance mentioned the media set up at the back of the venue. He said they were the fake news, but that, "[s]ome of them are okay."
Today on Capitol Hill...
Quieter and quieter still on the Hill as the Senate winds down its work before going on recess. Only three meetings are set for Thursday:
White House What's Up
Very quiet day for (purported) President Joe Biden. Aside from receiving his Daily Brief: Nada. Although Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre will hold a press briefing in the early afternoon.
Full Court Press...
Looks to be a fairly quiet court day, too, though one never knows what filings and rulings might land. We'll keep an eye out.
Of Primary Concern
Tennessee is doing its Thursday thing with congressional and state primaries today. We'll post a results thread this evening.
I'm back — did you miss me? Yes, yes, I missed a Morning Minute on Wednesday, but for good reason: I was helping my daughter move out of her college apartment to her new abode, and let me tell you, there ain't no fun like moving in 90-plus degree heat with 8,000 percent humidity. I also remained largely offline for the better part of 48 hours. I can't claim it was relaxing (obviously), but it was mentally relaxing to a degree. Highly recommend doing every so often if you can. It affords a quick reset. Now, we start August, and I'm ready to roll.
