In the Democrats' endless navel-gazing about why they lost, they still haven't figured it out.
I wrote earlier about Rep. Eric Swalwell's (D-CA) hot take on the matter. He thought we hadn't seen enough of failed presidential candidate Kamala Harris. And he also managed to trip over his words and accidentally praise President Donald Trump.

Maybe they should take advice from the guy who has lost a lot - former Texas Rep. Beto O'Rourke. Sure, that makes a lot of sense. I'm sure he has some words of wisdom they can use. Or...maybe not. Just like Swalwell, Beto has one heck of a delusional take. He was talking specifically about the redistricting question with Jake Tapper on CNN, but said the Democrats' problem is that they have been more concerned about "being right" than winning.
"Match fire with fire. I think Democrats in the past, too often, have been more concerned about being right than being in power," he argued. He claimed Republicans only cared about being in power, whether or not it was right.
Does anyone alive over the past ten years, having seen all the efforts from the Democrats against President Donald Trump, feel that the Democrats have been more concerned about being right than winning? For the Democrats, it's always been about control and winning. This sounds like true projection.
Then he said they have to "get serious." "We have to be absolutely ruthless about getting back in power." Pro tip? Has Beto checked the revelations from the Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard lately, and what the Obama team allegedly did, speaking of "ruthless"?

O'Rourke wasn't quite done yet. He also went on CBS and said they had to do everything they could do now, "or we're going to lose the republic." This is nuts - he claimed that America was descending into a tyrannical country more than any other nation in recent memory.
He claimed that there hadn't been such a constitutional crisis since the Civil War. "I sure as hell hope that this does not descend into further violence and armed conflict," he ranted.
“I want us to resolve this democratically, peacefully, and nonviolently. But within those parameters, let us do everything that we can. Because if we fail to do that, the other side is going to consolidate this power, and it might very well spell the end of this noble experiment."
What is he even talking about? The "violence" now is from the left, and it's anti-ICE, anti-Israel, and anti-Trump. It's been against the democratically-elected president and his policies. So if actions are threatening the noble experiment at this point, the threat isn't from the right.
The hysteria of this rant is also something else. Everything will implode - unless we are in power. Except things were horrible when you guys were in control.
And they wonder why they're at 19 percent approval. Please keep taking tips from people who lose like Beto and Kamala.
