NextImg:The Truth About J6: FBI May Have Had Hundreds of Agents Undercover in the Crowd

Recently released documents, uncovered by investigators and released to Congress by FBI Director Kash Patel, have revealed that (among other things) the FBI had as many as 274 agents undercover at the January 6th, 2021 dust-up at the Capitol - and that those agents were deployed after the trouble began, that they were deployed in plain clothes, with no way to easily identify them among the crowds.

This is, as someone once said, a big freakin' deal. Just the News reports:

The FBI secretly deployed more than 250 plainclothes agents to the U.S. Capitol during the Jan. 6, 2021 riot, an operation so disorganized it unleashed searing frustrations among many of the FBI's rank-and-file that the bureau had lost its core competencies to "wokeness" and allowed its employees to become “pawns in a political war,” according to an after-action report kept from the public for more than four years.

Scores of FBI agents and personnel – many from the bureau’s premier Washington field office (WFO) – sent anonymous complaints to the after-action team detailing how agents were sent into an unsafe scenario without proper safety equipment or the ability to identify themselves readily as armed officers to other police agencies, the report obtained by Just the News shows.

Why? To what end? What were those agents doing? Why were they deployed in plain clothes after the trouble began? Did any of them offer any information to uniformed law enforcement? Did any of them enter the Capitol without making their status known to the Capitol police? Did any of them offer any testimony in the cases of any of the J6 defendants? If so, did they identify themselves as FBI agents and state that they were there in an official capacity?

You can read the entire after-action report here. It merits your full consideration, but I'll describe a couple of highlights:

We poorly assessed our own culpability in the distrust the American people have for the lack of transparency in this election. The appearance of any lack of transparency at any polling/counting venue should be vigorously investigated by the FBI. We have not done this. Our not taking responsibility for the political bias of the Mid Year investigation, and the politically based crimes committed by FBI employees in the Crossfire Hurricane investigation makes us morally unfit to render justice in the eyes of too large a percentage of the public. During this last summer we virtually ignored riots that were direct attacks on life, property and local and federal government. We have, in fact, due to our actions and inactions, lost our most prized asset in our pursuit of justice; the confidence, admiration and gratitude of the American public. As an agent I am not alone in this perception. Without a change in course, our current trajectory will drive the likelihood of civil unrest by conscientious citizens (and possibly domestic terrorism from fringe groups) who fear the loss of their Republic from a number of difference mechanism that have been made raw by our inattention to our core values.

Boom. Zowie. Or biff-bam-krunk. This is the tacit admission by an FBI agent, in an after-action report on the January 6th "riots" which were, in fact, little more than hooliganism, of things we on the right have been saying ever since.

And the agent is correct; without a change of course, the current trajectory would have continued downward. Fortunately, we have had a change of course in the 2024 reelection of President Trump, and the subsequent appointment of Kash Patel as FBI Director. None of this would have ever come to light without those two things happening.

Chris Wray, of course, reacted to Congress by essentially claiming, "...this is fine, everything is fine."

Despite the pre-existing report, Wray rejected that notion in testimony before Congress. “The idea that I’m biased against conservatives seems somewhat insane to me, given my own personal background,” Wray told Congress in 2023

“I have found almost invariably, the people screaming the loudest about the politicization of the FBI are themselves the most political, and more often than not, making claims of politicization to advance their own views or goals, and they often don’t know the facts or are choosing to ignore them,” Wray added in an episode of the podcast “FBI Retired Case File Review” that aired the same year.

And yet, in the AAR, an agent writes:

The FBI should make it clear to its personnel and the public that, despite its obvious political bias, it ultimately still takes its mission and priorities seriously. It should equally and aggressively investigate criminal activity regardless of the offenders' perceived race, political affiliations, or motivations; and it should equally and aggressively protect all Americans regardless of perceived race, political affiliations, or motivations.

I think we all know that this wasn't done, most especially in the Biden administration's tenure.

Heads should roll over this. The FBI, under the Biden administration, most certainly and even before that (obviously) has shown a level of bias in investigations and enforcement that constitutes an unforgivable breach of trust with the American people. The leadership of the FBI during this time frame must be held accountable. Whoever it was that ordered 274 agents into that mess at the Capitol on January 6th, 2021, must be held accountable. The FBI was once the premier law enforcement agency in the nation. The only way for it to regain that status is for everyone involved in any of this to be dragged into the daylight, for them to respond to Congress and to the American people, and, as appropriate, indicted, tried, and punished.

The release of this report has made it plain that much of what we all expected was, in fact, true. Now it's time to act on that knowledge.
