I was driving around the other day and Salem Media’s Larry Elder came on the radio—the “Sage From South Central,” as he refers to himself.
He talked about a case that many people don’t know about, and I admit that even as a news junkie, it was not on my radar. A Birmingham, Alabama, man is charged with murdering 18 people. Eighteen. I’m struggling to wrap my head around that number.
His name is Damien McDaniel, and he’s charged with a despicable set of crimes:
Those include the murder-for-hire of firefighter Jordan Melton in 2023 and two different 2024 quadruple homicides, one at the trendsetter's venue in July and the Hush Lounge massacre at Five Points South, which made national headlines just three months later.
One can’t help but wonder: why hasn’t this been a bigger story? Where has the mainstream press been? Asleep at the wheel, as usual, when it doesn’t fit their narrative. You see, these alleged murders were not carried out by white supremacists or MAGA fans:
The Downfall of America's Cities: Why Are Our Streets Out of Control?
In July, McDaniel took to Facebook to post a self-serving screed claiming that he is not a monster and insisting some of law enforcement’s investigative tactics were problematic. I will only put a little of it here because it reads like a total failure to accept responsibility for his evil ways and does not deserve further acknowledgement:
"I want to my send my condolences to all those who have been affected by these accusations…. I’m not speaking clarity and I’m definitely not asking for pity, this is for me because I see how the world is trying to portray me to be and no I’m not mad but I will not allow you all to defame my character. I wasn’t gone say or try to clear up the assumptions but the truth is this situation takes a toll on more than just me and my family. My uncle has been targeted, and that resulted in a shooting. My mother’s home was also shot at.
It goes on, but you get the idea—he’s the victim.
As Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker, California’s Gavin Newsom, and other Democrats tell us that there’s no crime problem and continue to defy President Trump’s efforts to end lawlessness on our cities’ streets, a story like this reminds us that, yes, there is a very serious crisis in our nation’s inner cities.
Eighteen. I can’t even quite cope with that number. Rest assured, however, you’ll never hear about such atrocities from the corrupt corporate media.
To them, it’s as if it never happened.
Editor's Note: The days of lawlessness in Washington, D.C. are over. Thanks to President Trump, our nation's capital will be SAFE once again.
