Seriously, New York? Is this guy the best you can come up with?
Zohran Mamdani, who is right now the favorite to win the mayoralty of the Big Apple, once one of the world's greatest cities, is planning to plunge New York from frying pan to fire. But it goes beyond his bat-guano crazy economic policies; he's refusing to condemn Hamas, a gang of terrorists, killers, and war criminals.
Democratic mayoral nominee Zohran Mamdani refused to denounce Hamas after he was asked to back Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s vow to wipe out the terrorists and secure the release of all remaining hostages.
Mamdani stopped short of condemning the militant group after Netanyahu used his defiant address to the United Nations General Assembly on Friday to declare that Israel must “finish the job” in its war against Hamas.
“I am not going to echo the words of Benjamin Netanyahu,” the mayoral nominee told reporters when asked point-blank later Friday if he agreed with the Israeli PM’s stance that Hamas is a terrorist group that needs to be destroyed.
I'm sorry - no, I'm not - but that's a lot like refusing to take a stance against liver cancer. Hamas is as vicious a group of thugs, killers, rapists, and atrocity-committing skunks as ever drew a breath that all civilized people would happily deny them, and this communist mayoral candidate won't say a word against them, simply because that would appear to put him in alignment with the prime minister of the only civilized country in the Middle East?
Here's what he is willing to say:
“I can, however, share my own words and say them right here, which is that my politics is built on a universality. I can think of no better illustration of that than from the words of the hostage families themselves: Everyone for everyone,” he added.
That is utter corral litter, the worst form of content-free maundering. He literally spent 25 words saying nothing. Not even Kamala "Queen of Word Salads" Harris could muck up a simple statement that badly. "Everyone for everyone?" What utter horse squeeze. Hamas will never be for anyone but themselves and their fellow travelers, and Mamdani, who purports to be an American, should set aside his obvious antipathy towards Israel and recognize that the ideology behind Hamas and like groups is a fundamental threat to civilization.

President Trump isn't staying silent about the possible takeover of his old hometown by a communist mayor.

I sure hope he's right about Mamdani's possible election being a gift to Republicans, but what will it do to the city? I'm no fan of cities, but up until a few years ago, I would have said that if any city should be the capital of the world, it would have to be New York. Now? Not so much. The city's "sanctuary" policies have brought ruin on entire neighborhoods. Crime is up again. The Big Apple's businesses and productive citizens are seeing its "Escape From New York" time and bailing for Florida and Texas. We can scarcely blame them.
Now Zohran Mamdani, who refuses to denounce murderous terrorists, who promises to spend the city into bankruptcy, who intends to drive out New York's few remaining productive residents, is leading in the polls to be the next mayor.
Oh, what fools these mortals be.
