Boy, howdy, but Kamala Harris's new (almost certainly ghost-written) memoir is sure dumping a lot of dirt. Her intent seems to be to go scorched earth on her former colleagues, and now her former boss, "Autopen Joe" Biden, is the subject. The latest revelation from the book is that the Harris camp, during the Biden administration, was worried enough about the elderly, befuddled president that they developed a "red flag" plan to be executed in the event of a Biden collapse.
Vice President Kamala Harris' inner circle crafted a "Red File" contingency plan in the event something "traumatic" happened to President Joe Biden, the former vice president revealed in her new memoir "107 Days."
While the Biden campaign maintained that he was running for re-election until the moment he suspended his campaign, Harris' brother-in-law, Tony West, created a succession plan long before the president's consequential announcement, according to Harris.
"A year earlier, he had started what he called the ‘Red File,'" Harris wrote in her book. "With a president in his eighties, he suggested, it would be malpractice on my part to be unprepared if, God forbid, something should happen."
Here, we can extend Kamala Harris's ghost writer some reluctant credit for making it sound like the then-vice president wasn't ebullient over the prospect of assuming the top spot after a 25th Amendment proceeding to oust the dementia-ridden president. Of course, Republicans should have likewise been ebullient over the prospect, as the Queen of Word Salads would have no doubt made just as much a dog's breakfast of a few months completing the Biden term as she did of her 2020 and 2024 campaigns.
But hoo, boy, could she have done some damage to the country in the process?

Of course, "Autopen Joe" did drop out, not of the presidency but out of the 2024 campaign, after Donald Trump utterly destroyed him in the one presidential debate between the two.
News broke that Biden was dropping out on July 21, 2024, as Harris' team discussed the upcoming Democratic National Convention. Her team didn't realize then that Harris would be the candidate to formally accept the Democratic nomination at the convention.
West was the first person she spoke to when Harris hung up the phone with Biden.
"If this isn't handled right, he will crap all over his legacy," Harris recalls West telling her after momentarily staring at each other, shocked and in disbelief.
Here's where this all gets amusing: Not only did Joe Biden have no legacy to crap all over, but he cemented any hope of a 2024 Democrat win by anointing the clueless, abrasive, and arrogantly, profoundly ignorant Kamala Harris as his replacement. Now she's cementing that reputation of being clueless, abrasive, and profoundly ignorant with this book, in which she seems determined to (I'll borrow a term from Tony West) crap all over everyone she blames for her 2024 loss, which is, everyone but herself.
That's fine. She's also destroying any hope she had of taking another shot at the top spot, not that she ever really had much hope, anyway.

Biden's team declined to comment on the book when reached by Fox News Digital.
