NextImg:The Creep Files: Hot Mic Catches Putin, Xi Jinping Dreaming of Achieving Immortality

File this one away in the “Whoa, that’s really weird” files. As if to prove that they are indeed Bond movie villains, Presidents Vladimir Putin of Russia and Xi Jinping of China were caught on a hot mic Wednesday pontificating on immortality. They would both like to live forever, apparently, despite the damage they’ve already caused in one lifetime.

They were together for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in China, ostensibly a celebration of the 80th anniversary of Japan's surrender in WW II, but in reality a show by the communist state to bare its chest. Hermit Kingdom dictator Kim Jong Un and India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi also showed up as the CCP put on a massive military parade and flexed their muscles to scare the U.S. and try to don a “world leader” mantle.

Putin and Xi, both 72, appeared to be BFFs throughout the confab, and got downright philosophical (and creepy):

Xi told Putin via a translator: 'Earlier, people rarely lived to 70, but these days at 70 you are still a child'.

Putin responded: 'Human organs can be continuously transplanted. The longer you live, the younger you become, and (you can) even achieve immortality'.

Xi said in response: 'Predictions are, this century, there is also a chance of living to 150'.

The eerie conversation comes in the context of the long-standing allegations of China illegally harvesting organs from minority groups detained across the nation, including Falun Gong practitioners, Uyghurs, Tibetans, Muslims and Christians.

UN human rights experts said in 2021 they had credible information that minority groups were forced to undergo medical tests and organ harvesting without their consent.

RedState’s Ward Clark wrote Tuesday about the efforts of China and Russia to create a new world dynamic:

Of the four nations assembled for this display [Russia, China, North Korea and Iran], three are nuclear powers, and one has ambitions to become so. That's significant, because in international affairs, nations with nuclear arsenals are far more complex for other nations to deal with. International diplomacy is so often, as the old saying goes, a case of saying "nice doggy, nice doggy" until one can find a rock, but nuclear-equipped nations are much bigger, meaner doggies with sharper teeth. Russia, China, and North Korea are aware of this. Iran is trying to find out.

The massive robotic parade looked eerily similar to the opening of the 2008 Beijing Olympics:

China and Russia are clearly trying to forge a bond and become a team to counter the U.S.; Iran and North Korea, however, are just looking for relevance and to get off the international pariah list, which they’re not going to achieve anytime soon. While the West should certainly be concerned and aware of the saber-rattling coming out of the East, the real danger here just might be that these two megalomaniacs could start harvesting organs from their “citizens” in a bid to live forever—or at least a really long time.

Now there’s a harrowing thought.
