Former CNN host Jim Acosta took a swipe at those who live in the heartland and President Donald Trump, proving he's learned nothing since leaving CNN.
During the TDS-riddled reporter's appearance on Tuesday at the event hosted by the left-leaning Center for American Progress, Acosta insulted American farmers, suggesting that they are unable to discern for themselves what is best for them and their livelihood after that part of America overwhelmingly chose Trump in the 2024 election.
"The far-right in this country has kind of figured out a way to infiltrate the Heartland," Acosta claimed. "And to basically pull, you know, mom and pop from the farm to their point of view."
"And as it turns out, a lot of those folks vote in these elections," he added. "And a lot of those folks have been completely led astray. I hate to say it, but they've been completely led astray. And we all just let this happen on our watch, with essentially a business model for delivering the news in this country just does not work anymore."
As our sister site Townhall noted in the clip it shared from the Acosta event:
Maybe they don't vote for Democrats because people like Jim Acosta talk down to them exactly like this.
Podcast host Dana Loesch also reacted to the comments, labeling the ousted CNN host "one of the most clueless people in broadcasting."
Later, a video surfaced from the event in which Acosta once again attacked the president, calling him "a danger to this country," Mediaite reported.
"I've been sort of trying to shout this from the rooftops or wherever anybody will listen to me," Acosta said. "At the end of a bar in Kansas City, whatever. The President of the United States is a danger to this country. Full stop."
"Even people in the Republican Party were afraid to show up at his birthday parade, the dictator Kim Jong Un birthday parade that he tried to have over the weekend where you saw the video of the tank going by the empty stands and you heard the squeaking of the tracks of the tank," Acosta said. "And it was sort of like, what is this?"
His comments on Tuesday suggest that the former Chief White House correspondent has learned nothing since his final day at CNN, given his message sounded similar to the pompous diatribe he made on his last day at the network in January, as RedState reported.
Some of those bizarre comments can be seen below:
I am grateful to CNN for the nearly 18 years I've spent here doing the news. People often ask me if the highlight of my career at CNN was at the White House covering Donald Trump. Actually, no. That moment came here, when I covered former President Barack Obama's trip to Cuba in 2016 and had the chance to question the dictator there, Raul Castro, about the island's political prisoners.
As the son of a Cuban refugee, I took home this lesson: It is never a good time to bow down to a tyrant. I have always believed it's the job of the press to hold power to account. I've always tried to do that here at CNN, and I plan on going doing all of that in the future.
One final message: Don't give in to the lies. Don't give into the fear. Hold on to the truth and to hope. Even if you have to get out your phone, record that message. I will not give into the lies. I will not give into the fear. Post it on your social media so people can hear from you, too.
Editor's Note: The media continues to deflect, gaslight, spin, and lie.
