NextImg:Sunny Hostin Is Having a Moment Over Trump’s Response to Anti-ICE LA Riots

"The View" cohost Sunny Hostin had a moment over President Donald Trump's response to the anti-ICE riots in Los Angeles and suggested Trump is "militarizing" California as "a test run" for the rest of the country.

During the ABC talk show on Tuesday, the panel debated the reasons Trump sent in the National Guard troops to the city and deployed hundreds of U.S. Marines from Camp Pendleton to LA after the local law enforcement came under attack by the lawless rioters.

Hostin, who can always be counted on for saying some of the most bizarre things about Trump and Republicans, told the cohosts that "We have to look at what's happening from a bird's eye perspective and look at the why."

"Trump is militarizing that state [California] as a test run, to make sure he can do it in places like New York and other sanctuary cities," Hostin claimed, with zero proof to back her claim. "There is a plan to this, in my view."

"And I really think that there's no question that LAPD [Los Angeles Police Department] that has 9,000 police officers, could've handled this quite well," she added.

There are so many problems with Hostin's comments. The first of which is that they aren't supported by the facts on the ground.

As RedState reported, LA Police Chief Jim McDonnell blew up the Democratic narrative about the "peaceful protests" and said things were out of control.

"We are overwhelmed … There is no limit to what they are doing to our officers," McDonnell said. "And again, as I mentioned in my statement, I can't thank our folks enough and our partner agency police officials for going out there and taking care of the community."

When pressed by the media if the National Guard was really needed, McDonnell didn't hesitate and said, of the riots, "This thing has gotten out of control."

He then called out the radical leftists causing the violence, who he said were causing "one civil unrest situation to another. Using similar tactics frequently, and they are connected."

Second, the people creating chaos in the streets are the anti-ICE protestors, not President Trump, who is trying to bring back law and order to red and blue cities after former President Joe Biden and the Democrats encouraged massive illegal immigration into our country for the last four years.

Hostin's comments sound just as ridiculous as responses from Hollywood and other Democratic leaders, like CA Democrat Governor Gavin Newsom and Democrat Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, who blamed Trump.

Former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) might have had the most ridiculous response from a politician when she released a statement on Monday blaming the president for the "escalation" of violence in LA, not the radical leftists who attacked law enforcement, shut down the freeway, and burned cars, RedState reported.

Pelosi claimed the riots were "peaceful demonstrations" and accused Trump of committing "unlawful tactics" after the president called in the National Guard to help the police who were under attack.

The Trump Administration's escalation and provocation in California inflames tensions and incites violence. Now, the President of the United States said he would arrest a sitting American governor just for disagreeing with these actions.

This is a hallmark of authoritarianism on the road to tyranny – and all Americans should be shocked and appalled by the President's blatant disregard for our Constitutional system.

The American people must be able to exercise their Constitutional right to lawfully and peacefully protest. It is essential that we shine a bright light on the unlawful tactics of the Trump Administration so that freedom of speech prevails.

Editor's Note: President Trump isn't going to allow lawlessness to reign in America. We will not have a repeat of 2020's "Summer of Love."
