


Emory University in Georgia posted an online message late Friday that there’s an active shooter at the college, warning students to “shelter in place.”
“Emory Emergency: Active shooter on Emory Atlanta Campus at Emory Point CVS. RUN, HIDE, FIGHT. Avoid the area. Shelter in place,” a post on X from the university read.
“Emory Emergency: Active shooter on Emory Atlanta Campus at Emory Point CVS. RUN, HIDE, FIGHT. Avoid the area. Continue shelter in place. Police on scene," a second post read.
The New York Post reported that in a video online, multiple rounds of gunfire could be heard.
A rapid barrage of gunfire can be heard in horrifying social media videos as police and first responders raced to the scene. In one video filmed by a nearby resident, eight gunshots ring out, followed by a brief pause, then more than a dozen pop in rapid succession.
Georgia Rep. Mike Collins (R) wrote on X, “Students at Emory please take cover.”
Another person reported that the suspect was reportedly “down."
