It's been a long, hot summer for Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY), minority leader of the U.S. Senate, and it's not looking like things are going to let up for him anytime soon. You see, Schumer, a supposed leader of the Democrat Party who's been awfully quiet about that Communist mayoral candidate, just committed the cardinal leftist sin: he cast a vote in favor of Israel. And the seething pro-Hamas crowd that makes up the base of Schumer's party are none too pleased about it.
The left brought their protest du jour—I picture them spinning a Price is Right wheel to choose their daily outrage (and 99% of the wheel is Jew hatred)—right to the New York City offices of Schumer and his colleague, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY), who also ran afoul of the Hamas-loving cabal by voting to approve the arms sale to Israel.
Wearing shirts that read "Let Gaza Live" and "Jews Say Let Gaze Live," several dozen protestors, seemingly from a group called Jewish Voices for Peace, swarmed the Manhattan offices of Schumer and Gillibrand, and proceeded to chant, bang on pots, and generally make a nuisance of themselves as regular folk went about their business.
Officers from the New York City Police Department, who are mourning the loss of one of their colleagues who was killed when a gunman stormed another Manhattan office building earlier in the week, weren't playing around, and the zip ties soon appeared. A number of the protestors were reportedly taken into custody; this is probably not the week to storm an office building in NYC, but the pro-terrorism crowd isn't renowned for their common sense.
Luckily, Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA), was making an appearance on Fox News as the story was breaking, so we were able to get his wise words on the situation.
Number one, most of those people protesting believe in diversity, equity, inclusion and the right to hurt Jewish people. Number two, I think Israel has made the world safer. Let me tell you what I mean by that. With the Biden administration hanging all over Israel's back, all Israel has done is destroy Hamas, destroy Hezbollah, and put Iran on its knees. The Middle East is a much safer place as a result.
Supporters of Hamas are incensed that an effort led by Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) to block arms sales to Israel failed in the U.S. Senate earlier this week. Had that effort been successful, the Senate would have prevented the sale of $675 million worth of bombs and shipments of 20,000 automatic assault rifles to Israel.
MORE: New: Chuck Schumer Feels the Heat - In More Ways Than One
Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand have no one but themselves to blame for the disarray and chaos that has enveloped their side of the aisle. It's under their watch, after all, that the Democrat Party ceded power to the most radical, foaming-at-the-mouth elements of the radical left, and now they know what it's like to be the targets of their unhinged foot soldiers.
We'll let Sen. Kennedy have the last word on the situation: "Shame, shame, shame on my Democratic friends for not supporting Israel and freedom."
Editor's Note: The Democrat Party has never been less popular as voters reject its globalist agenda.
