There's been a lot of yada yadaing in recent weeks from both Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker (D) and California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) in response to President Trump's continued efforts to follow through with his campaign pledge to make America safe again.

Pritzker, for instance, staged a press conference Monday alongside Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson (D) to express strong opposition to Trump announcing the Windy City was likely next on his list for some National Guard-assisted help in battling crime.

Interestingly, Pritzker applauded and nodded in agreement when Johnson declared the so-called "addiction to incarceration" of criminals to be "racist, immoral, and unholy" - thus inadvertently proving Trump's points about soft-on-crime Democrats.

In a Fox News interview on Thursday, Kennedy was asked what he thought about Trump's crime response in Washington, D.C.  While Kennedy praised it and noted other blue cities in America were also struggling on the crime, education, and poverty front, he also had some thoughts about Pritzker's attempt at being a Resistance leader (bolded emphasis added):

Well, I don't know about you, but I'm against crime. I think most Americans are, unless they happen to be a criminal or they happen to be like a rock, only dumber. It's also a fact that over the last five or ten years, many of our major cities in America are worse. If you measure it in terms of crime and violence and education, poverty, family formation, it's easiest, not easy, but it's easiest of the problems I've just mentioned to deal with crime.

And it's working. We've sent in law enforcement officials to Washington. Crime violence is down. I don't understand Governor Pritzker's pushback. He's got a crime problem in Chicago. I mean, even the mafia is leaving Chicago because of the crime. I suspect Governor Pritzker, he seems to view random violence as preferable to having help from federal officials coming in.

And I think it's probably because of his animosity toward President Trump. If President Trump came out in favor of breathing to survive, Governor Pritzker would probably hold his breath.

As for Newsom, Kennedy congratulated him in a Friday Fox News interview for taking Trump's bait on the persistent crime issues in the Golden State's largest cities in announcing a "law enforcement surge." The word "princess" was used, and it was glorious:

If I could, I wanna make a comment, a rare note of gratitude to Gov. Newsom. He has surprised all of us and done something intelligent. He has decided to send the California state police into his major cities to help local cops fight crime in violence.

Now you don't have to be a senior at Caltech to know that that's in response to the Trump administration's threat to send in federal law enforcement officials. But look, I'll take it, if that's what it takes to get Gov. Newsom to stop being a princess, I'll take that, too.

As is often said, he is an absolute national treasure. This man should be protected at all costs.
