NextImg:Samuel Alito Responds to Ridiculous Flag Controversy, Tells His Critics to Go Jump in a Lake

In a rare move, Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito responded directly on Wednesday to the manufactured outrage of his wife supposedly flying a symbol of "insurrection" related to January 6th. Multiple press outlets, including The New York Times and The Washington Post, have been obsessing over the three-year-old story involving an upside flag for over a week. They've also decided that the "Appeal to Heaven" flag, which appeared at Alito's beach house, is similarly problematic.

That led to calls for the justice to recuse himself from any cases involving the 2020 election, with Democrat politicians like Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse leading the mob. Alito's response? Jump in a lake.

As it turns out, the incident was not about January 6th or whatever other ridiculous conspiracy theory Democrats come up with. Rather, as RedState reported just before this article, the cause of the upside American flag was a neighborhood dispute involving a crazed leftwinger who was harassing and stalking Alito's wife. It was meant to symbolize distress, which an upside-down flag traditionally stands for, not "insurrection."

According to Alito, the neighbor put a sign in their yard attacking him personally before following his wife home and calling her an epithet. He didn't actually have any involvement in the spat, but even if he had, it would not be grounds for recusal. In other words, Democrats attacked a Supreme Court justice's wife, insinuating she was involved in January 6th because she was accosted by a left-wing lunatic.

As to the "Appeal to Heaven" flag, it requires no further explanation. Alito's wife enjoys the rights afforded Americans by the First Amendment just like anyone else, and there is absolutely nothing controversial about that flag. It originated with George Washington during the Revolution and has been used for centuries by many different groups. It is not a symbol of "insurrection" or "right-wing extremism." It is also not a call for "Christian nationalism." The historic flag stands for exactly what it says — praying and appealing to God during tough times.

It is astounding that this has gone this far. There are so many important stories to cover, and the press are losing their minds, putting armies of reporters on a story about a pine tree flag and a neighborhood argument. You simply don't hate the press enough. You think you do, but you don't.
