Rules for Thee: Speed Demon Mayoral Candidate Andrew Cuomo Racks Up Multiple NYC Speeding Violations

We’ve seen it so often: holier-than-thou Democrat politicians saying one thing but doing another. Top on the list is California Gov. Gavin Newsom, who dined maskless at the uber-expensive French Laundry restaurant during the pandemic and sent one of his children to a mask-free camp while the regular kids suffered (and who more recently was revealed to have been sipping wine at a fundraiser as wildfires engulfed LA). There’s New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who hypocritically snuck off to the free state of Florida during the COVID days, all the while espousing stringent rules for the little people back home in the Granite State.
Meanwhile, traffic laws don’t appear to mean much to New York City mayoral candidate and former disgraced “Love Guv” Andrew Cuomo—he’s racking up multiple violations and apparently is happy to keep thumbing his nose at authorities as he speeds around in his new sports car.
Cuomo’s Dodge Charger muscle car was caught on camera speeding in school zones in Brooklyn on April 27 and May 2 — after being socked with two speeding tickets a mere minute apart March 28 while flying northbound on a seven-block stretch of the West Side Highway in Lower Manhattan, a Post analysis of city records shows.
The ex-governor paid $365 in fines from March 6 through May 2, including the four speed-camera tickets, a ticket for parking in a bus lane and another for failing to feed a meter, according to the latest available data.
Here’s a pretty funny graphic from the New York Post:
Despite his controversial decision as governor to send COVID-infected patients to nursing homes during the pandemic—which many argue cost thousands of lives—and then being forced to resign over a sexual harassment claim, Cuomo actually is leading in the polls to replace Eric Adams as the Big Apple’s next mayor.
But will he follow the laws of the city? Doesn’t sound like it. He’s apparently made numerous other violations that he got away with:
The lead-foot ex-lawmaker was filmed May 28 apparently blowing a red light on Seventh Avenue in Midtown after speeding away from reporters trying to ask him questions following a news conference he hosted with labor leaders, according to video posted on social media.
On Monday, Cuomo’s car was filmed blocking a left-turn lane on Eighth Avenue in Times Square while he attended a campaign event.
One of his opponents had some thoughts for the disgraced speedster:
Cuomo’s rogue riding is the latest example of his “do as I say, not as I do”-style of governing, said Republican mayoral rival Curtis Sliwa, who added Cuomo is the one who signed a 2013 bill into law creating NYC speed-camera program...
"Once again, it’s rules for everyone else and a free pass for Andrew.”
Cuomo’s got nothing on Brad Lander, the attention-seeking NYC Comptroller who was arrested Tuesday for interfering with ICE agents. That lunatic earned dozens of citations before becoming comptroller and getting an NYPD chauffeur:
The Democratic socialist racked up a jaw-dropping 136 traffic summonses since 2013 on his Totoya Prius, records show.
Ten of the tickets were issued to lead-footed Lander for being caught on camera speeding in school zones, but a vast majority were for being a parking scofflaw.
For Cuomo and Lander, it would appear that their motto is, “rules for thee. Definitely not for me.”
The Democrat Party has never been less popular as voters reject their globalist agenda.
