NextImg:Report: Key Biden 'Politburo' Member Said to Be 'Forthcoming' in Oversight Committee Testimony

As RedState has reported, some members of Joe and Jill Biden's inner circle of advisors, including their former White House administrative and medical staff, have invoked their 5th Amendment rights as the House Oversight Committee continues its investigation into the autopen scandal.

Anthony Bernal, who was a senior advisor and "work husband" to the former First Lady, pled the 5th last Wednesday in his refusal to testify before the committee, as has former Biden Deputy Chief of Staff Annie Tomasini

Biden's White House physician, Dr. Kevin O'Connor, was another, leaving Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer to deduce that "I think that this adds more fuel to the fire that there was a cover-up."

While it's hard to conclude anything else, others were said to have been more cooperative, like Neera Tanden, another former senior advisor to the ex-POTUS. And on Thursday, we learned that former Biden Chief of Staff Ron Klain was supposedly "forthcoming" in his testimony:

Former White House chief of staff Ron Klain was “cooperative” Thursday with House Republicans investigating Joe Biden’s cognitive slippage while president — after Klain badmouthed his former boss in a recent book about the 46th commander-in-chief.

Klain — a member of a purported “Politburo” that made high-level decisions as Biden grew less clear-headed during his term — appeared before the House Oversight Committee to respond to accusations that senior aides shielded the 46th president’s physical and mental infirmity.

[...]

“I found Mr. Klain to be very credible, he answered every single question, he was fully cooperative,” said Rep. Ro Khanna (D-Calif.). “There’s times where he was asked about personal conversations with the president and he was forthcoming.”

“In my opinion, he’s not trying to avoid answering the questions,” added Rep. Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.). “He’s saying the things that I kind of expected him to say.”

On X, Biggs also talked about Klain's decision to testify:

Klain is a longtime political operative of the Democrat party, and he is answering the Committee’s questions accordingly. I still have many unanswered questions regarding who was running the country and Joe Biden’s mental and physical acuity, especially in light of Hunter Biden’s revelation that his father was being drugged with Ambien. I look forward to continuing to work with Chairman Comer to deliver answers for the American people.

While Klain's decision to volunteer to testify was certainly interesting, I'm not convinced anything "blockbuster" will come out of it since, book quotes notwithstanding, both Biden and Klain go back a long time.  This could be an attempt by Klain to preserve whatever credibility and respectability he may think is left as it relates to Joe Biden's political legacy.

Still, Comer is promising to release transcripts "at a later date," so we'll have to stay tuned to see what develops:
