JB Pritzker has been bandied about as a possible candidate for president in 2028.
During a Sunday interview on “Meet the Press” with Kristen Welker, the Democrat Illinois governor wouldn’t rule out that he might run in the future. However, he didn’t help himself with his hypocritical answers regarding the Texas redistricting question.

That wasn't the only question that he fumbled. He also didn't deal well with another fundamental problem the Democrats have. You have NYC democrat socialist mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani demonizing billionaires - but Pritzker is a billionaire and a leader in the party.
“I don’t think that we should have billionaires because, frankly, it is so much money in a moment of such inequality," Mamdani told Welker in a previous interview.
That statement is truly problematic. Is he saying that if he's in government, they would eliminate billionaires? How would they do that? Does he think Democrats or the government should get to determine how much money people make or, in the case of Pritzker, how much they inherit? But it is Mamdani and the radicals who are presently animating the Democratic Party.

If you're a Democrat who has any sense at all, you should call that out. In addition to the fact that the government shouldn't be determining how much money people make, if you did manage to eliminate billionaires, you'd also be eliminating a lot of things they fund, including companies and jobs.
But Pritzker's response to Welker on this issue was as bad as his answer on redistricting. Welker asked about some in his party "openly questioning whether billionaires such as yourself should exist at all." She asked if he thought that should be "the kind of message that Democrats should be embracing?"
The simple, honest answer should be, "No, that's ridiculous."
But Pritzker launched into an effort to explain how his "values" show he is a Democrat, even if he is a billionaire.
“Look, how much money you have doesn’t determine what your values are,” he replied. He then spewed a typical Democrat rant about healthcare, democracy, and MAGA Republicans.
“It does not matter what your income level is. What matters is what your values are. And that’s what makes me a Democrat,” he said.
But he never addressed why the premise of what Mamdani said was wrong. Then there's all the money that the Democrats get from billionaires. They're just going to pretend that doesn't exist.
The problem is that the Democrats, as a whole, haven't dealt with this dichotomy and chaos in their ranks. It's the radical left wing that has captured and is defining their party. Unless they reject that, it will eat them whole, and there wouldn't be anything left but the radical parts, if we aren't there already.
