We reported earlier on the disturbing news that chat logs of the NSA government messaging program for the intelligence community showed that NSA, CIA, and FBI personnel were discussing some concerning lurid topics including transgender sex subjects and "wide-ranging discussions of sex, kink, polyamory, and castration."
“All NSA employees sign agreements stating that publishing non-mission related material on Intelink is a usage violation and will result in disciplinary action.”
The CIA has now responded to the reports.
Director of Public Affairs for the CIA Liz Lyons said that the messages "allegedly involving a CIA official are unacceptable and have no place at the Agency. The CIA will be taking immediate action on this matter which only further proves the need for serious reform."
The NSA acknowledged the problem with the people using the system and is also taking action.
After the report was released, an NSA spokeman reponded, "The agency put an enormous amount of trust in people allowed to use government systems. There is an expectation for full compliance with all of the laws and policies clearly posted on all those systems. We are continuing to look into this issue. We're taking actions against any and all employees who abused this system."
Chris Rufo said there would be more revelations coming.
How nice it is to finally have competent people in charge who will deal with issues. All this had to be going on under Joe Biden, and they either were oblivious or didn't care. But the fact this was going on raises a lot of questions about how many people were involved in this. Add this to one more concern about our intelligence agencies. These are people supposed to be acting on our behalf and handling sensitive intelligence.
If they would do this, then what else might they do? Just one more thing that screams how much we need reform in the federal agencies, with things like DOGE, when this is what the American taxpayers' money is being spent on.
DOGE head Elon Musk had a wry comment on the news, "Well...at least we know what they did last week."
That's a reference to the email survey he announced that went out to federal employees asking them to list 5 things they did last week.
It's a funny comment, but it's also incredibly scary when we have these people in sensitive positions.
