NextImg:'No Autopen': President Trump Proves to Be Totally Pro-Veteran With Latest Move

President Donald Trump proved to be totally pro-Veteran when he signed a new bill designed to help those who have served our country buy and keep their homes, hopefully putting an end to veteran homelessness.

During a signing at the White House on Wednesday, the president talked about the passage of the VA Home Loan Program Reform Act, originally introduced by Republican Wisconsin Rep. Derrick Van Orden.

"I'm thrilled to sign the VA Home Loan Program Reform Act into law... This legislation provides desperately-needed relief to veterans and their families who have fallen behind on their mortgages," Trump said. "It helps keep our promise to end veteran homelessness. We're going to do that for America. We're going to do that for our great veterans."

"An estimated 61,000 American veterans are in danger of losing their homes ... but thanks to this bill, the @DeptVetAffairs will be empowered to pay loan holders the necessary amount to prevent foreclosures on our veterans," he added. "So our veterans won't be foreclosed and put out on the streets."

"This bill also creates a five-year partial claim program that could benefit up to 3.7 million veterans. And will add nothing to debt," Trump continued, noting that the bill passed unanimously in the House and the Senate.

In a third clip, our sister site Townhall noted that Trump took a jab at former President Joe Biden after signing the bill, uttering the word "No autopen."

"It's a very important bill and we want to thank everybody for their great help in getting it done," the president said after signing the bill.

Congressman Van Orden, who was also there at the signing, credited the president with the passage of the bill and for his leadership.

"I am unequivocally stating right now that @POTUS is the most positive, pro-veteran president in the history of this country... this is another example of how President Trump is taking care of our veterans."

In a press release from Van Orden's office, he explained further what the bill will do.

It read:

This legislation establishes a permanent partial claims program within the VA Home Loan Program, bringing VA in line with other federal agencies that lend money for homes and replacing the fiscally irresponsible Biden administration-era VASP program. Veterans will be permitted to have the same programs non-veterans have available to them through FHA loans, allowing veterans who have fallen behind on their mortgages to receive federal assistance.

This is definitely what we voted for. Good for Trump and everyone involved in the passage of the bill that provides a foreclosure safety net and takes care of our veterans.

Thanks to President Trump and his administration’s bold leadership, we are respected on the world stage, and our enemies are being put on notice.
