NextImg:New: The Gaslighting Over Joe Biden’s Acknowledgement of Navy Roberts Reaches Obscene Levels

At long last, President Joe Biden has acknowledged the existence of his four-year-old granddaughter, Navy Roberts, the lovechild of his son, Hunter, and Arkansas native Lunden Roberts, a now ex-stripper he met in 2017.

As RedState reported, Biden did it in one of the most clinical and cold ways possible – not by speaking directly to the American public about it but by issuing a very brief statement on a Friday night to People magazine.

“Our son Hunter and Navy’s mother, Lunden, are working together to foster a relationship that is in the best interests of their daughter, preserving her privacy as much as possible going forward,” the statement read.

“This is not a political issue, it’s a family matter. Jill and I only want what is best for all of our grandchildren, including Navy.”

As of this writing, the statement does not appear on the White House’s website.

Naturally, when Team Biden tries to play clean-up for Joe Biden they go big in hopes of containing the fallout and making the issue go away, which is exactly what happened in comments they made to the New York Times in what can perhaps best be described as obscene gaslighting:

But in recent weeks, the president told his son that he wanted to meet Navy when the time was right, according to a person familiar with those discussions. The person was not authorized to speak publicly.

Are you kidding me? Are we supposed to believe that Biden organically decided over the course of the last few weeks as he has repeatedly vacationed with his son, who previously had done everything he could to ignore the child’s existence, that he finally “wanted to meet Navy when the time was right”?

This is absolute horse-puckey, and we all know it.

Joe Biden’s idea to finally get around to acknowledging and eventually meeting Navy Roberts was not just some bright idea he conveniently had pop in his mind. This was due to the growing criticism he had faced from not just left-wing columnist Maureen Dowd at the New York Times but also from a few of his political foes like Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, a potential 2024 opponent of Biden’s who at least twice this month has brought the issue up during campaign stops.

“When Biden says they’re all of our kids, what I say is: why don’t you pay more attention to your granddaughter in Arkansas, or at least acknowledge that she exists?” DeSantis said in Iowa two weeks ago.

At another Iowa event, DeSantis kept the heat on Joe Biden over the issue.

“You’re talking about all of our children; I have something to say to [Joe Biden],” DeSantis remarked. “Why don’t you focus on spending more time with your granddaughter in Arkansas, or at least acknowledge she exists, before you worry about our children?”

Look, despite what was mentioned in Biden’s statement, this is not just a “family matter,” this is also a political matter considering the reputation Biden has tried to build as the proud and doting grandfather, and clearly Joe Biden is trying to do some damage control ahead of 2024 – which was also evidenced by something else referenced in that Times report:

On Friday, another person familiar with the situation said the president would say that he had seven grandchildren going forward. The person spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss a private matter.

How magnanimous of him. Does this mean we’ll see seven Christmas stockings for his grandchildren on the White House fireplace mantel now instead of the six that have been placed there for the last two years?

This is all unseemly, but it didn’t have to be. All Joe Biden had to do was the right thing in speaking of his grandchildren by noting when he spoke of them that he had seven, not six. But the Biden White House had a deliberate strategy in place to ignore Navy Roberts, a decision that could only come from one man: Joe Biden himself.

Joe Biden just keeps on telling us who he really is. Perhaps next year, the voters will listen – and respond accordingly by voting him right on into retirement.
