Democrats and lefties want to try to turn the beautiful memorial for Charlie Kirk into an attack on Christians with their new phrase warning about "Christian/Religious Nationalism," and it's disgusting.

Unless you are some sort of evil person, you couldn't have watched the memorial on Sunday in Arizona for the late Turning Point USA founder with 70,000+ worshiping together to try to heal and come away with a negative feeling or thought about our country.

But that's exactly what appears to be happening with one person on the left after another, throwing out their new phrase as something that people should be fearful about.

On Monday, fired CNN host Don Lemon questioned whether Kirk was a "person of faith," trying to twist his legacy into something it's not. He also then suggested the memorial wasn't about grief and honoring a great man, but instead was about "demanding submission."

The kicker was when he admitted to not watching it, only catching "some of the soundbites."

"It was about a movement claiming divine permission to rule," Lemon said. "By the end of the night, it was clear, this was not only about Charlie Kirk's death, it was about his afterlife in politics."

"What we saw in that arena was not simply faith finding public expression, it was religious nationalism on full display," he added, claiming that the speeches were the language of "domination."

Over on MSNBC, a guest reflected on the memorial, calling what she witnessed a "convoluted" version of Christian values and patriotism.

"What you are seeing here is a movement called 'Christian Nationalism,'" Tina Nguyen said, referencing Hillsdale President's comments at the memorial, merging 'Christianity and protecting the Western Civilization values into one and the same thing. It's a very somewhat convoluted argument…."

As early as September 3, seven days before Kirk was assassinated by an alleged suspect influenced by radical leftist ideology, he warned about the left's attempts to hurt Christians by lying about their values.

"You hear a lot of pundits fearmonger about the rise of 'Christian Nationalism' when right in front of their eyes, Islam is taking over public places and gaining political power," Kirk wrote on X. "Islam is a fundamentally political ideology that aims to conquer us, militarily or demographically."

I am old enough to remember when the late, great Rush Limbaugh would point out how the drive-by media would use the same term over and over again. It's never an accident when the usual talking heads on the left start using the same phrase.

It's obviously an attempt to continue to sow division in this country and crush the hopeful spirit we witnessed and felt as a country while watching the memorial.

Turning something so moving and beautiful into something negative is a new low for the left, and why their leadership couldn’t be more wrong for this country. Please continue to pray for the Kirk family and our country.
