NextImg:New: Netanyahu Declares Israel 'On the Way to Victory' Over Iran

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on Monday that Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are "on the way to victory" against the dangers posed by Iran’s nuclear and ballistic missile programs.

During a visit to the Tel Nof Airbase near Rehovot, Israel, where he was joined by Defense Minister Israel Katz, Netanyahu said:

Today, we are advancing toward our two main objectives: neutralizing the nuclear threat and eliminating the missile threat. The Israeli Air Force controls the skies over Tehran. This is a game changer in the entire campaign. We are on the way to victory, and this is made possible thanks to our heroic pilots.

"When we control Tehran's skies," Netanyahu continued, "we strike these [nuclear and military] targets — regime targets — unlike the criminal Iranian regime, which targets our civilians and comes to kill children and women."

The Israeli prime minister told the pilots and ground crews:

Thank you, and with God's help — we will act, we will succeed, and you will continue until victory.

Defense Minister Katz also spoke to the pilots:

When the prime minister, the government and I had to make the decision whether to strike in Iran — and such decisions are not simple — we knew one thing, and that was the decisive factor: that when the decision is made, we have someone that we can rely on — you.

Seeing what you are accomplishing together, and what is happening over the skies of Tehran, so we see that we were right."

We had someone to rely on; we still have someone to rely on," said the defense minister. "The entire state of Israel and all the people of Israel rely on you and say: Thank you — and keep going.

Netanyahu was clearly charged up, which, given his country's dominance over Iran throughout the armed conflict, he had good reason to be:

Our great pilots are over the skies of Tehran and we're targeting military sites, nuclear sites — that's what we're doing.

That's nuclear terrorism on a global scale; it threatens everyone. We attacked their chief nuclear scientist. It's like Hitler's nuclear scientist — would you leave them? Of course not.

As the intensity of the conflict continued on Monday, IDF forces bombed the headquarters of Iran's state broadcasting agency, which was captured on video from within the building during a live broadcast.

Also on Monday, as RedState reported, Iran's Islamist regime signaled through intermediaries that it wants to end hostilities and restart nuclear talks, which should be taken with a grain of salt and a quick history lesson:

The Islamic Republic of Iran has declared since it overthrew the Shah of Iran, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, on February 11, 1979, that it intends to destroy Israel — no ifs, ands, or buts.

While the mullahs in Terran might be "begging," what they're really begging for — likely, desperately — is a breather. It's simply hard to believe (I don't) that after nearly 50 years, the Islamists are willing to abandon their ultimate goal of destroying Israel.
