Gavin Newsom Gets Terrible News About His Plan to Redistrict, After His Very Public Meltdown
All of this makes the governor look even more pathetic. He doesn't even have the ear of his deep blue state's electorate on an issue he spent the last two weeks posturing over, writing checks with his mouth that his political ability can't cash.
Schumer Gaslights About D.C. Crime, Gets 'Pantsed' by Senator Mullin, and His Own Security Detail
Gaslighting is an overused term, but it fits Schumer like a glove.
Runaway Texas Democrats Issue Laughable 'Demands' - Abbott's Response Is Pure Gold
They're the ones who are blocking democracy from happening.

Instead, he just played Biden...I mean, dumb (same thing, really).
NBC News: Here's the Texas Dems' Exit Strategy
Can they be charged with felonies for bribery? I have no idea if that will actually fly in court, but please try.
Boasberg’s Contempt Backfires: The Case That Put a Judge in His Place
The bottom line—and say it loud: judges are not kings.
The Democrats’ Mortifying Public Impotence
So, the Democrats are stuck. With no chance of exercising power, they have no option but exercising powerlessness.
Odds are they will simply move on to pushing the next ORANGE MAN BAD story hoping this will go away, as the bazillion other fake news stories they've pushed about Trump over the years.
Today on Capitol Hill...
I don't know that going on recess was really a good idea for Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY). It seems to have accelerated his marble-losing. First, it was the imaginary friends. Now, it's imaginary D.C. outings.

Meanwhile, it appears the Texas legislature is going to get back to the business of redistricting — and delivering a more favorable GOP House map for 2026.
White House What's Up
President Donald Trump receives his intelligence briefing Thursday morning, and then is set to "deliver remarks" from the Oval Office in the early afternoon. Remarks of what sort, we don't yet know. Probably best to have the popcorn at the ready.
Full Court Press...
The Trump administration notched a solid win on Wednesday with the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals vacating the preliminary injunctions entered by District Court Judge Amir Ali regarding the freezing of foreign aid funds that had previously been appropriated by Congress.

Wednesday's loss column included Massachusetts Judge Myong Joun's denial of the administration's motion to vacate or stay his preliminary injunction in Victim Rights Law Center v. United States Department of Education (regarding the dismantling of the Department of Education). It also included D.C. Judge Jia Cobb's denial of the administration's motion for stay pending appeal in Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights v. Noem (regarding expedited removal for those on parole), and Western District of Washington Judge Marsha Pechman's denial of the administration's motion to dismiss in American Federation of Government Employees AFL-CIO v. Noem (regarding rescission of collective bargaining).
I would simply counsel not to be discouraged by that seeming win-loss record for Wednesday. The win was a big win. The losses were procedural speed bumps.
Friday's focus will be on Alaska, where President Trump is set to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss bringing an end to the Russia-Ukraine war. Brace yourself for all manner of spin from the leftwing media, because you know it's coming.
On Wednesday, I made a bold prediction about Trump (his administration) and the courts. That's based on my years of experience as a lawyer and my close following of much of the litigation. I'm also closely following the Russiagate/Leakgate disclosures, but I'm not going to try and make any bold predictions as to where it all will lead — way too many variables for me to get a confident read on how that will all shake out.
I have been painstakingly working my way through the disclosures, though — highlighting key pieces of information and taking notes. (Yes, I made another spreadsheet.) One thing I've realized is that a fair amount of this information was already out there — heck, we reported on much of it back in the day. Not all of it was, though, and we didn't then have the benefit of 20/20 hindsight to really make a go at piecing everything together.
I have lots of questions, of course. I'm cautiously optimistic that some of them will eventually be answered. But the biggest one of all — the proverbial $64,000 question — has me stumped: Why was thwarting Donald Trump worth trashing it all?
I'm not talking about everyday folk who've bought into the notion that Trump is an existential threat to "our democracy" — to us all! They've been spoonfed a steady diet of Orange Man Bad for so long that they have little recourse but to simply rail against him as much as they can. I'm talking about the Beltway Bunch — the career bureaucrats and politicians, agency heads, people who take great pride in their reputations and stature. Each and every one of them made a decision to bend and then break the rules and basically throw it all away in order to prevent his winning the presidency (three times) and gum it all up for him when he did.
Why? Once we know that for certain, the rest of the puzzle will fall into place.
