NextImg:More Boulder Terror Attack Info: What They Found in Suspect's Car, What Else He Allegedly Told Them

On Sunday, there was a horrible Molotov cocktail terror attack on a group of people peacefully rallying for the release of the hostages being held by Hamas. The alleged suspect in the case, Mohamed Sabry Soliman, reportedly was illegally in the country after overstaying a visa.

There are a lot of things you could say about this terrible incident. Perhaps one of the worst takes was from Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD), who tried to use the incident as an argument for gun control, although no guns had even been used. As my colleague Bob Hoge said, it was Raskin being a "naked opportunist."

On top of that, the press conference revealed something else. According to Acting U.S. Attorney J. Bishop Grewell, the suspect allegedly said he did it because he hated "the Zionist group" and he "wanted them all to die," and "he would go back and do it again."  Grewell also alleges the suspect said that he had been planning to do a shooting but wasn't able to get a gun because of his immigration status.

"He said that he had previously tried to purchase a firearm, but resorted to the Molotov cocktails when he could not purchase a gun because he was not a legal citizen."

So we need more laws, on top of the laws that already stopped him from getting a gun, according to Raskin.

It isn't about gun laws, it's about stopping people who would commit evil acts.

But if we're talking about laws, Rep. Raskin, how about the law that the suspect shouldn't have even been here to begin with because he was here illegally? Why don't the Democrats ever want to address the issue of illegal aliens rather than embracing them?

The police affidavit also said at least 14 unlit Molotov cocktails were found near where the suspect was arrested.

There was also something else that was interesting when they searched his vehicle.

According to an arrest affidavit, law enforcement officials found paperwork with the words "USAID" inside Soliman's 2015 silver Toyota Prius. Other paperwork with the words "Israel" and "Palestine" was also allegedly found inside the Toyota Prius, in addition to a red gas container and rags.

A senior State Department official told Fox News Digital that Soliman isn't a United States Agency for International Development employee.

So why did he have something with USAID on it? Did he have any connection to the agency, and/or does it have any relevance? They don't describe the "paperwork," so it's hard to assess what they're talking about, without more. Hopefully, they'll provide more information on that. USAID has provided aid in Gaza, and people on the left have been unhappy with cuts to USAID, but we don't know yet if those facts are related to this matter.
