NextImg:Marvel's President Kevin Feige Proves He's Learned Nothing From Failures, Will Continue Pushing Wokeness

Disney-Marvel used to be a cultural powerhouse, but ever since End Game, the brand has been on a steep decline thanks to the injection of modern political influence that leans heavily to the left. Despite signs that Disney is trying to course correct in various ways, it would appear that Marvel may continue to push forward with injecting socio-political nonsense nobody wants.

According to The Wrap, Feige addressed the complaints by stating that Marvel is closer to the real world, and that the real world is thus reflected in the Marvel universe:

“I said this before ‘woke’ and ‘DEI’ became a thing and I’m still saying it after: Marvel is the world outside your window,” Feige told reporters on Friday. “It’s not Gotham City and Metropolis. This is New York and L.A.. And yes, there’s also Wakanda and Asgard, but it is all made up of the people who make up our world.”

The Wrap goes on to bring up superheroes like Black Panther, a movie directed by Ryan Coogler, as proof of what Feige is saying. The only issue is, no one had a problem with Black Panther because it made sense within the context of the Marvel universe. While some of the messaging was a bit on the nose, the events and the villain both made sense.

It's proof that what fans really had a problem with was never ethnic superheroes, it was the injection of socio-political commentary where it didn't belong. The shoe-horned in characters, disrespect to the previous characters, and the overall politicization of the franchise is what turned the fans off and caused many of them to walk away en masse.

Case in point, in the upcoming Fantastic Four film, Sue Storm is confirmed to be the team's leader according to ComicBookMovie.com

"If you do go back through the comics, you realize that Sue Storm is arguably the leader of the Fantastic Four, because without Sue Storm, everything falls apart," he explained. "We had the desire to date aesthetically, but in terms of character and treatment, who should be front and center, it's like, hey, let's tell the best story possible."

The site also spoke with Vanessa Kirby, who recalled laughing with Reed Richards actor Pedro Pascal when they read a comic from the 1960s that saw him buy Sue a dress to stop her from complaining. She similarly hopes to modernise the character, but didn't want to make Sue a "bad boss bitch." Instead, she set out to find a "genuine feminine soulfulness."

But this deviates entirely from established Fantastic Four lore, where the leader has always been Reed Richards. The only reason Feige would have made the decision to change this up is to adhere to left-leaning socio-political expectations.

And if you're giving into those expectations then you're not telling "the best story possible," you're effectively setting up another movie to be an ideological billboard; something people will read as they drive past and then completely forget about the moment their eyes are off it.

According to Variety, earlier reviewers have said this film will be "the best thing Marvel has ever made," which means the loyal were allowed to see it so they can give it positive praise. This tells us absolutely nothing about the film, but if the pattern holds, this is probably going to be more slop with a little bit of leftist ideological bent shoved into it.

Maybe I'm wrong, but the pattern's been holding for some time and if Feige's words are any indication of what to expect, I don't see the pattern breaking anytime soon, especially not with this upcoming "masterpiece."
