NextImg:Los Angeles Sheriff's Department Puts Out Bonkers Post on Bombing of Iran

President Donald Trump's decision to bomb Iran's nuclear facilities has elicited more than a few hot takes. Multiple Democrat politicians immediately called for his impeachment, while others suggested some variation of World War III had just been started.

Those takes were expected, though. What wasn't expected was the following post from the...Los Angeles Sheriff's Department?

Whenever you see something like that, the first thought is that it might be a parody. But while there's no shortage of photo-shopped memes on social media, this went out on the official LASD account. For whatever reason, the sheriff's department of one of America's biggest counties decided to put out condolences for Iran's nuclear facilities, lamenting the "tragic event" of an Islamist regime no longer having the capacity to produce nuclear weapons. Alrighty then.

It should be noted that in the aftermath of the bombings, the Iranians claimed the nuclear sites had been evacuated days prior, so who exactly were the "victims" being mourned by the LASD? Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying I believe the Iranians. I'd be shocked if some soldiers weren't on site to defend against a possible Israel commando raid, but their official line is that no one even died.

After the LASD post went viral, someone further up the food chain noticed and an edit was made to remove the section about the bombings.

Shortly after that edit was made, the post was deleted altogether.

Did a communications director go rogue here? If that's the case, then the LASD should probably be looking to fire someone. If Sheriff Robert Luna doesn't want the country to think his entire department is rotten, now would be a good time to speak clearly and act decisively. I'm hesitant to paint with too broad a brush because we saw LASD deputies recently absorb abuse from left-wing rioters and do their jobs with valor. There's no reason to think the rank-and-file are in league with the woke imbecile who made that post.

But again, proving that to the public requires taking action and being transparent. I get that it's California and some level of insanity is expected, given what Democrats have done to one of the most beautiful and resource-rich states in the union. Still, a sheriff's department sending their hearts out to murderous Mullahs for losing their capability to launch a nuclear genocide seems like a bit much, even for Los Angeles.
