There are countless reasons why I don't envy New Yorkers at the moment, but having to choose who to support in the Democratic mayoral primary would have to be near the top of the list.
There are, of course, multiple options — at least 11 — but the top two, according to recent polling, are the disgraced former governor or a radical Democratic Socialist antisemite.

There are, as mentioned, other options. For instance, there's NYC Comptroller Brad Lander. If his name seems familiar, it's because last week, he decided to try to interfere with federal agents who were trying to take an individual into custody outside of the immigration court.
That didn't go so well for Lander, as he wound up getting arrested for assault and impeding a federal officer. Or...maybe it did. It got his name in the headlines, at least.

Whomever New York Democrats (or Democrat voters) ultimately choose as their candidate, they'll have their work cut out for them. (That is, assuming they go on to defeat Eric Adams, the now-Independent incumbent. Nor should we overlook Curtis Sliwa, who's running as a Republican, though the odds likely aren't in his favor just given party demographics.)
