CNN data guru Harry Enten said the network's latest poll about President Donald Trump's handling of Crime blows up the Democrats because it shows Americans are "far more hawkish on crime" than they might want to admit.
In a clip posted on X on Thursday, Enten stands in front of a graphic that reads "Trump's net approval-Handling of Crime. The poll showed that in March of 2024, America's view of Trump's handling of the issue during his first term was -13 points. However, those numbers have flipped with the August 2025 poll showing Trump plus 1 point during his second term.
"I think that Democrats have to get it around their head that Americans are far more hawkish on crime than they think they are," Enten said, noting that last year, Trump was "way underwater."
"But look at where he is now!" he added. "Americans view Trump far more favorably now on crime than they did a year ago."

Enten pointed out that the poll was taken before Trump announced earlier this week the federalization of law enforcement in the nation's capital, but does take into account his actions to end the lawless anti-ICE riots in Los Angeles and "what's happened earlier this year."
A second poll then showed former President Joe Biden's numbers on Crime versus Trump, and they aren't even close.
Enten said the results of the poll "Gives the game away, because Donald Trump is like Air Jordan towering over Joe Biden when it comes to their handling of crime." The poll showed Biden in 2024 compared to Trump in August 2025.
"Look at where Biden's net approval was at, way underwater at minus 26 points," Enten said. "It was one of Biden's worst issues. Granted, pretty much every issue was one of Biden's worst issues."
"Look at where Donald Trump is. Way, way, way above Joe Biden," he added. "What is that? 27 points. So Americans vastly prefer Donald Trump's approach to Crime than they did to Joe Biden's."
"And again it gets back to the point that Americans are far more hawkish on crime than a lot of Democrats want to admit," Enten continued.

The CNN poll backs a recent CNBC poll that White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt pointed out, which was that Democrats' approval rating is at a three-decade low, RedState reported.
During a White House Press briefing, Leavitt talked about Trump's federalization of DC police due to out-of-control crime and how Democrats' poll numbers could improve if the party embraced the efforts to clean up the city. (26:40)
"We encourage Democrats to join us in this effort; perhaps their approval ratings would move up a little bit if they did," Leavitt said. "I saw a new poll today, Democrat approval rating is at an all-time low, [-32%]. "
"If they could just stand by the basic notion of law and order, perhaps they would see that tick up a bit," she added, appearing to reference a new CNBC poll about Democrat net favorability plunging to a three-decade low at -32 percent. "And we welcome them to do that."
