NextImg:Kelly Loeffler's Post About Her SBA Office Goes Viral When She Explains What Her First Actions Will Be

We've seen a lot of announcements from Elon Musk about the work DOGE is doing.

But the effort to reform government is a whole-of-government action, with other members heading up agencies making announcements about how they have been making cuts or helping to make their agencies more efficient.

One such announcement came from the new Small Business Administration (SBA) head Kelly Loeffler, as our friends at Townhall reported. Loeffler's X post has gone super viral, with over 22 million views. It shows her arriving at her SBA office her second day in office, only to find as she walks around, that the cubicles are empty. The visual is striking.

This Friday afternoon, you could hear a pin drop at SBA HQ. That ends Monday as @POTUS orders every federal employee back to the office, full-time and in-person. It’s time for the government to get back to work.

Loeffler said what people have heard was true: that about 90 percent of their employees were working from home.

Loeffler said starting Monday, all the employees were going to be required to show up in the office for work -- just like the people who work in the small businesses who they are supposed to be serving.

Hearing about employees not showing up was one thing, seeing the emptiness on video brings it to a whole new level. It's been this way for a long time now; it's four years since the end of the pandemic. Joe Biden did nothing about this. Of course it's not just the SBA with this issue, other agencies have this problem as well. The government has been paying workers to work from home, yet paying for the offices and all those expenses, without the workers there.

No wonder Elon Musk spoke about accountability, saying there would be emails going out, asking employees to account for what they did last week. This has been needed for some time.

Musk commented on Loeffler's post, noting no one was there doing work:

How much has this affected productivity? How have they been accounting for getting things done? They need to look at this too, to evaluate whether positions can be cut if they're not doing anything anyway.

Now, if the workers are required to come in to the office, some might quit. Okay, then hire other people who will do the job, cut the position, or have the person show they can meet productivity while working from home. Some people might be able to do certain jobs from home. But you'd probably end up saving even more money from people quitting because they're finally being held to account.
