White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt took a dig at Democrats and their low approval numbers, offering a solution that they could possibly start to fix if only they joined President Donald Trump's law and order efforts.
During a White House Press briefing on Tuesday, Leavitt talked about President Trump's federalization of law enforcement in the nation's capital due to out-of-control crime and how Democrats should embrace the efforts to clean up the city. (26:40)

“We encourage Democrats to join us in this effort; perhaps their approval ratings would move up a little bit if they did,” Leavitt said. “I saw a new poll today, Democrat approval rating is at an all-time low, [-32%]. “
“If they could just stand by the basic notion of law and order, perhaps they would see that tick up a bit," she added, appearing to reference a new CNBC poll about Democrat net favorability plunging to a three-decade low at -32 percent. “And we welcome them to do that.”
During the Tuesday presser, Leavitt reflected on how many people were arrested in less than 24 hours after Trump's crackdown in D.C. to end violent crime, as our sister site Townhall.com posted.
"As part of the president's massive law enforcement surge, last night, approximately 850 officers and agents were surged across the city," Leavitt said. "They made a total of 23 arrests, including multiple other contacts."
The White House press secretary then provided a long list of the arrests made, which included the following:
She noted that this is just the beginning, pointing out that the Trump administration over the next month will "relentlessly pursue and arrest every violent criminal in the district who breaks the law, undermines public safety, and endangers law-abiding Americans."

My RedState colleague Sister Toldjah reported on Trump's actions.
She wrote:
Trump's announcement came in the aftermath of some recent high-profile violent crimes in D.C., including the June 30 murder of Eric Tarpinian-Jachym, 21, who was an intern for Rep. Ron Estes (R-KS), and the violent August 3rd assault on former DOGE staffer Edward Coristine, 19, who reportedly was coming to the defense of a woman who was allegedly being carjacked.
Not surprisingly, the mainstream media and Democrats oppose the move, citing questionable crime statistics for D.C. that are now the subject of an investigation.
As that investigation plays out, the Washington Post, of all places, filed a report underscoring the fact that, rising crime rates or not, the residents of Washington, D.C. don't feel safe.
Following the announcement, the D.C. Police Union showed its support for Trump's crackdown as well. Union Chairman Gregg Pemberton said that immediate action was needed to turn things around, as RedState reported.
Editor's Note: The days of lawlessness in Washington, D.C. are over. Thanks to President Trump, our nation's capital will be SAFE once again.
