Democrats are hell bent on digging in on the wrong side of every 80-20 or even 99-1 issue affecting the American people. Karoline Leavitt is delivering a strong message on one of those issues - crime in big, blue cities such as Washington, D.C., Chicago, or New York City.
That message is intended for those who genuinely believe in a resistance party that assures them everything is fine and crime is not a problem.
"Nothing to see here. Please disperse," as Leslie Nielsen famously said in the movie The Naked Gun.
The White House Press Secretary addressed those misinformed souls directly today.
"This is our message to Americans in Democrat-run cities nationwide: decline is a choice. You don't have to live in constant fear of being robbed, raped, or murdered," she declared. "Your leaders are lying to you — and they have been failing you for decades."

Leavitt touted the incredibly effective crackdown in the crime-infested liberal cesspool of Washington, D.C., where deployment of the National Guard has yielded hundreds of arrests, a cleanup of homeless encampments, a noticeable pause in murders, and a significant decline in carjackings in the city.
"The President Trump approach of upholding law and order by letting our brave men and women in blue actually do their jobs to aggressively fight crime works," she said. "In just a few weeks, President Trump has done more for D.C. residents than Democrats did in 50 years."
Leavitt went on to say that the plan to clean up the streets in big cities can be replicated elsewhere, whether it is a Democratic or Republican stronghold.

The stern message comes as Democrat leaders who thrive on holding their citizens down in crime and poverty - such as Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson (D), who President Trump has accurately described as "grossly incompetent", and California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) - have insisted their cities and states do not need the help, and demanded the Trump administration stay out of their way.
The Press Secretary is wise to skip right over those imbecilic self-serving politicians and speak directly to the people, something Democrats just can't seem to do. It won't take much convincing, it turns out. The people are too intelligent. They know when their leaders are lying to them.
A staggering 99 percent of people surveyed in an AP-NORC poll have said crime is a problem in big cities. 99 percent!
You could run a poll right now asking 2,000 people if the sky is blue and water is wet, and at least a quarter of the respondents would argue to the contrary.
Their leaders are lying to them, but it ain't working anymore.
My RedState colleague, Bob Hoge, reports that the same survey also reveals a startling fact about the aforementioned "President Trump approach" to crime. Namely, the people support his efforts.
"The numbers are simple and stark: Americans are fed up with lawlessness in this country," Hoge writes.
The poll cited shows that those who indicate crime is a "major problem" cross all political spectrums: 96 percent of Republicans, 72 percent of Independents, and even a whopping 68 percent of Democrats.
Even beyond that, a solid 53 percent agree with the Trump approach to combat that "major problem."
Leaders have been lying, but the jig is up.
"Though ... Democrats have said they don’t want Trump’s help, the numbers show that the people are extremely pleased with the administration’s efforts," Hoge concluded. "The Democrats keep doubling down on stupid."
