NextImg:Kamala Harris Exhibits Massive Cluelessness About 2024 Campaign

In Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's 1875 poem "The Masque of Pandora", the character Prometheus renders an immortal saying: "Whom the gods would destroy, they first make mad." It's an apt saying, if one does a quick browse through history, and Prometheus' observation in Longfellow's work is repeated in essence over and over in the literature of a dozen or more cultures.

Considering that, it's enough to make one wonder what the gods Longfellow refers to have planned for Kamala Harris, because she sure seems to be well on her way to that "first, they make mad." Just consider her recent reflections on her disastrous 2024 presidential campaign.

That's a lack of self-awareness that registers on the Richter scale. Let's deconstruct this embarrassing (for her) little tirade.

Over the 107 days of the race? For Kamala Harris and her campaign apparatus, it wasn't a race so much as a shuffle - maybe a slog. I've watched presidential campaigns like a lot of guys watch sportsball since the 1980 race, and I've never seen a presidential campaign more clueless, more self-destructive, and so out of touch with the tone and tenor of the national discourse than this one. I remember talking to a left-leaning friend a day or two after the election, and when he expressed disappointment in President Trump's smashing victory, I had to ask him, "What did you think was going to happen? Were you paying any attention to the campaigns at all?"

The former VP continues:

And today, millions of Americans continue to stand up for our values, our ideals, and our democracy. Their courage and resolve inspires me.

Inspires her to do what? Run again? Against JD Vance, or Ron DeSantis, or any of the other rising stars the GOP has to put into play? Kamala Harris lost big in 2024 because she was a terrible candidate and had a terrible campaign. She's an execrable public speaker, barely able to string together a coherent sentence if you spotted her two verbs and a conjunction. The Democrats have had some competent speakers in recent years, some who could speak extemporaneously and do a good job of it - like Bill Clinton. No, Barack Obama wasn't one of them. When off teleprompter, Obama mumbled, he stuttered, he droned.

The former VP concludes:

Whether you are attending a protest, calling your representatives, or building community, I want to say: Thank you. We are in this fight together.

"Building community?" What does that even mean? Aside, of course, from being the exact kind of content-free, platitudinous garbage we'd expect from the Queen of Word Salads. Does she not have any staffers who can diagram a sentence? That's a rhetorical question, of course; anyone who has read or listened to any of the output of her campaign or her statements since her catastrophic loss already knows that answer.

Kamala Harris has literally nothing to offer the United States, other than being the object of fun. It's about time she borrowed a quarter and bought herself a clue. And we should note, once again, that one of the best things about President Trump's 2024 victory is that the nation didn't just dodge a bullet; we dodged several years' combined output of every munitions factory on the planet.

Editor's Note: President Trump is leading America into the "Golden Age" as Democrats try desperately to stop it.
