NextImg:Joy Behar Forgets Arnold Schwarzenegger Is an Immigrant and Asks About ICE Raids—His Answer Is Epic

As conservatives, we have a sort of love/hate relationship with "The View." For as long as it has been on the air, we are constantly baffled at how it stays on the air, and who would actually use minutes of their life to go sit in the studio audience, much less watch it at home. However, the truth is that the hopelessly uninformed, vapid gals of "The View" provide some of the best nonsensical content around. Their latest guest to once again put their collective idiocy on display is former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger.

"The Governator" sat down with Joy and Whoopi, et al, but the fun, at least for us, began when Joy Behar asked Schwarzenegger about the ICE raids going on in California. Either Joy is completely unaware that Arnold is a legal immigrant, or she really is as big a buffoon as we thought. Whatever the case, none of them got the answer they wanted from the actor. Behar began saying, "You're an immigrant to this country, did you have a visceral reaction to what they're doing, to what ICE is doing when you see the videos of it?"

Schwarzenegger began by saying that he was "so proud and happy that I was embraced by the American people like that." He described coming to America at the age of 21, "with absolutely nothing," and going on to create not just a bodybuilding career, but also successful careers in acting and politics, as well as his family. He says, "In no other country in the world could you do that... All this is because of America." The ladies dutifully nodded, but it surely couldn't have been the answer they were looking for. Unfortunately for them, Arnold was just getting started.

Arnold continued saying, "I'm so, so happy to see first-hand that this IS the greatest country in the world and it IS the land of opportunity..." Schwarzenegger got applause at the end of his answer, but it was a rather tepid response. Guess that is to be expected when the leftist audience of "The View" gets smacked with a reality check from an actual legal immigrant. Then, Schwarzenegger gave his opinion on illegal immigration. He began by saying, "You've got to do things legal." Since we can't see the audience, we don't know if, at that point, half of them got up and left. But Arnold was on a roll. He said that those entering the country illegally "were not smart," and went on to explain, saying,

"...When you come to America, you're a guest. And you have to behave like a guest...You have a responsibility as an immigrant to give back to America."

Sunny Hostin is seen putting a hand on his arm like she wants to jump in, probably to remind him that he is a white male and therefore has privilege. Behar can also be heard trying to jump in, but Arnold wasn't having it. Eventually, Whoopi Goldberg and Sunny Hostin tried squeezing some lame statistics in about how "90 percent of the people who come here are trying to do the right thing." Hostin teed up the old, "immigrants are much less likely to commit crimes in this country than actually American-born citizens." Goldberg also tried untruths like, "A lot of what’s happening right now is people are getting snatched, who shouldn’t be snatched out of the country." But it was too late. In true "Terminator" fashion, Arnold had already blown up any BS bombs the gals tried to throw at him.

It's probably a pretty good bet that no one in that audience has ever heard what a legal immigrant thinks about millions of other immigrants who broke into the country, and now expect handouts, and other kinds of rewards for having done so. Arnold Schwarzenegger may be a lot of things. Yeah, he was a RINO governor and has done some less-than-smart things in his personal life. But he can count leaving "The View" gals speechless as one of his best accomplishments in America.
