Well before the assassination of conservative leader Charlie Kirk, Republicans were sounding alarm bells over the alarming rise in political violence among leftist activists and agitators, including those who were allegedly planting incendiary devices at Tesla dealerships and setting fire to them, as well as those who were (and still are) violently targeting ICE agents and facilities.
Kirk's September 10th murder was the tipping point for many on the right, including Vice President JD Vance, a friend of Kirk's who, along with Second Lady Usha Vance, accompanied Kirk's family on Air Force 2, which also carried Kirk's casket, to his final resting place in his home state of Arizona.
"We gotta condemn it, and that starts, unfortunately, at the very top of the Democratic Party. If you want to stop political violence, stop attacking our law enforcement as the Gestapo. If you want to stop political violence, stop telling your supporters that everybody who disagrees with you is a Nazi," Vance said during a stop in Concord, North Carolina, on Wednesday.

Predictably, there has been a lot of "whatabouting" on the left in response to conservatives who have correctly pointed out that repeatedly demonizing Republicans as racists, bigots, misogynists, transphobes, Nazis, etc, is inflaming extremists on the left and is inspiring them to take the wrong kind of action.
Among the whatabouters is this leftist who has his Bluesky information proudly posted in his X bio. He tagged Vance on the below tweet, which showed Kid Rock shooting up Bud Light beer cans (language warning):
Needless to say, using beer cans as target practice as part of a boycott is not remotely the same thing as committing violence against people, or inciting it. Vance saw the tweet and was absolutely having none of it:

Relatedly, there were also these extremely valid points:
The receipts:
The Sept. 10 poll shows the more liberal respondents were, the more likely they were to say violence can sometimes be justified.
A quarter of respondents who identified as “very liberal” said violence can sometimes be justified to achieve political goals, along with 17 percent of those who identified as “liberal,” 9 percent of moderates, 6 percent of those who said they’re “conservative” and 3 percent of those who identified as “very conservative.”
Younger Americans were also more likely to say political violence can sometimes be justified.
Twenty-six percent of liberals under 45 years old, compared with 12 percent of liberals 45 and older, said political violence can sometimes be justified...
I rest my case.
