Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) thinks far too highly of herself.
However, the Democrats are in such chaos at this point, she's what they have out there as a "leader" — someone who seems focused on media attention and making inflammatory remarks which aren't going to help her party. She reportedly is so image-focused that she uses a headshot of herself as her iPhone lock screen.

Crockett dropped a doozy of a rant at the African American Film Festival in Martha's Vineyard last week that has now been reported. She attacked Republicans and gave an unhinged explanation as to why most black people couldn't be Republicans.
“Listen, most Black people are not Republicans simply because we just is like, ‘Y’all racist. I can’t hang out with the KKK and them.’”
“That’s really what it is,” she asserted. “But when we think about who we are as black people, and we think about where we come from, most black people have very conservative values, right?”
“But the reality is that, like, we just can’t side with, like, the neo-Nazis and them. We like, ‘We not – we not dealing with y’all like that, right?’”
Not only is that a ridiculously unhinged, untrue, and tired attack on Republicans, but yes, Jasmine, there are a lot of black Republicans, with more coming because the Democrats are so off the rails in their positions at this point. We saw that shift during the November elections. It's one of the many reasons that Democrats are in difficulty. Instead of attacking Republicans who are offering positive policies that attract people, how about getting your own house in order and offering something constructive? And yes, a lot of black people have conservative values, but I don't think she's one of them.
But what was truly hilarious was even after all her media promotion to get her name out there, she wasn't even able to get Al Sharpton, who sat with her on the same panel, to get her name right.
Sharpton’s brutal gaffe came as he reminisced about working on Shirley Chisholm’s 1972 presidential campaign, four years after she became the first black woman elected to Congress, and he compared Crockett to the trailblazing congresswoman.
“I lived to see Shirley Chisholm morph into Barbara Jordan, morph into Maxine Waters, morph into Ayanna Pressley and Jasmine Campbell,”
Oh, my, that's got to hurt her.
And frankly, Al is a bit daft to compare her — or Maxine Waters and Ayanna Pressley — to Shirley Chisholm or Barbara Jordan, two women who had great presence and skills.
When people can't even get your name right, you may not be the social media influencer you think you are. It's also funny that people are talking more about that than about anything she had to offer.
