Iranian dissidents blasted Whoopi Goldberg's "offensive" attack on America when she claimed life is no different for Blacks in the United States than living in the totalitarian regime of Iran.

During Wednesday's "The View," the co-hosts were discussing the dangers of living in the Islamic state when Alyssa Farah said, "I think it's very different to live in the United States in 2025 than it is to live in Iran in 2025," RedState reported.

The millionaire Hollywood star disagreed and insisted, "Not if you're black." She also suggested there's no difference between being gay or a woman in Iran and being black in America.

Speaking to Fox News, Dr. Sheila Nazarian, "a renowned plastic surgeon whose family fled Iran in 1985 when she was six after her father was put on a government list to be killed," called Goldberg's comparison "offensive" and "deeply misguided," before giving the TV host a history lesson.

"While racism is a serious and ongoing challenge in the U.S., comparing this to life under a totalitarian theocracy like Iran is not only inaccurate – it's offensive to those who suffer daily under that regime," Nazarian said.

"In Iran, the government controls nearly every aspect of life," she added. "People can be imprisoned, tortured, raped or even executed for peaceful protests, for criticizing the regime, or simply expressing their opinions online."

Iranian-American journalist Lisa Daftari told the outlet that, "It's astonishing that Whoopi Goldberg would even suggest that life for Black Americans is somehow equivalent to living under the rule of the Ayatollah in Iran."

"The very fact that she, as a woman — and a woman of color — has a platform where she can speak freely, express dissenting views, and appear uncovered on national television is proof of the immense freedoms she enjoys," she added.

Goldberg has faced backlash for her comments and has been slammed by conservative commentators and others.

Townhall's Guy Benson decimated Goldberg for her "moral idiocy" and ignorance.

"I call that show a daily national televised insane asylum for a reason..." Benson told Fox News. "Our government prosecutes hate crimes. They don't commit them as a matter of course. For her to say, 'Oh well, if you are Black in the United States in 2025, it's basically the same as being a dissident or anyone in Iran that is deeply, deeply ignorant."

"Whoopi Goldberg... is one of the most fabulously wealthy people in the world," he added. "She gets up every morning. She rolls in to do an hour of poorly informed television. She collects a handsome paycheck. And she goes and lives her life however the heck she wants."

"Compare that to the people who are slaughtered in the streets or imprisoned for years," Benson continued. "Beaten or executed for what they think or who they are in Iran. To make that comparison is disgraceful. But unfortunately, it is par for the course on that program."

OutKick's Clay Travis agrees and wrote on X, "Holy [..] Whoopi Goldberg said it's not different to live in the US and Iran in 2025. How can you be this clueless? Her co-host, who has Iranian heritage, is trying to point out that women can't even dress like she is on the show. Gets shouted down:"
