As we reported, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei threatened to unleash sleeper cells in the U.S. if we attacked the Islamic Republic. Well, now we have attacked—demolishing three nuclear sites with 30,000 lb. bunker busting bombs dropped from B-2 stealth bombers—and concerns that a terrorist attack could occur have intensified.
The fear is worsened by the fact that former President Joe Biden, with his “left them all in” border policy, freed hundreds of Iranian nationals into the country during his one disastrous term.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement is doing their part to mitigate the threat, however, and over the weekend, they rounded up at least 11 Iranians here illegally:
- U.S. citizen Linet Vartaniann also arrested for threatening officers while harboring illegal alien
- Yousef Mehridehno, lied on visa application and on suspected terror list
5 had prior criminal convictions. All 11 Iranians have been charged or accused of crimes beyond immigration violations
Some of these guys clearly never should have been allowed to step foot into the homeland:
Immigration and Customs Enforcement nabbed former Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps member Mehran Makari Sahel, who has “admitted connections” to the Iran-backed terrorist group Hezbollah, according to CBS News.
He was busted near St. Paul, Minnesota.
Yousef Mehridehno, whose name appears on the terrorist watchlist, was arrested by ICE outside Jackson, Mississippi, according to the outlet.
Under @Sec_Noem, DHS has identified and arrested known or suspected terrorists and violent extremists that illegally entered this country, came in through Biden’s fraudulent parole programs or otherwise.
We have been saying we are getting the worst of the worst out—and we are. We don’t wait until a military operation to execute; we proactively deliver on President Trump’s mandate to secure the homeland.
When you read the details, you can’t help but be reminded that Biden abandoned his duties and left our country at risk. This could be considered his primary legacy.
ICE agents also arrested Ribvar Karmi in northern Alabama on Sunday and found he was carrying an Iranian Army ID card that revealed he was a sniper between 2018 and 2021, CBS reported.
Karmi entered the US in October 2024 on a K-1 visa for immigrants who are engaged to American citizens.
Five of the 11 Iranians swept up by ICE had previous criminal convictions that included grand larceny and drug and firearm possessions, according to CBS News.
The story with Iran remains fluid, and although we did great damage to their nuclear program, they remain a serious threat.

Under this administration, at least, ICE is taking the situation seriously. There are 11 fewer threats to us today.
