NextImg:Hunter Biden Lawyers Meeting With DOJ Sparks Speculation

As we reported earlier this week, an IRS whistleblower, a career supervisory special agent is alleging some bombshell things in the Hunter Biden case.

His attorney Mark Lytle has said that the agent has made legally protected disclosures internally at the IRS, through counsel to the U.S. Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration, and to the Department of Justice, Office of the Inspector General, about the case getting “preferential treatment.”

The protected disclosures: (1) contradict sworn testimony to Congress by a senior political appointee, (2) involve failure to mitigate clear conflicts of interest in the ultimate disposition of the case, and (3) detail examples of preferential treatment and politics improperly infecting decisions and protocols that would normally be followed by career law enforcement professionals in similar circumstances if the subject were not politically connected.

This might explain why the case has been going on for years and has appeared stalled.

As I reported, the Biden “senior political appointee” that the whistleblower has the goods on — which contradicts the appointee’s sworn testimony to Congress — has been identified as Attorney General Merrick Garland. That’s a big deal if they caught Garland lying to Congress over the Hunter Biden case because of the possibility of perjury and the scandal of such a cover-up.

That revelation seems to have Hunter Biden’s lawyer, Chris Clark, throwing fits. He claimed that the IRS agent was committing a crime by “improperly disclos[ing] information about an ongoing tax investigation.” Sounds like they’re very worried about what the IRS agent may have disclosed and are already trying to undercut the agent in the eyes of the public.

Now, on top of all that Hunter Biden’s lawyers are planning on meeting with Department of Justice officials next week, according to two federal law enforcement sources “familiar with the matter.” They’re going to be meeting with U.S. Attorney David Weiss and other senior officials.

Why are they meeting with the DOJ right as all this information is dropping? Fox says the sources claimed it was planned weeks ago, trying to blunt the thought that it had anything to do with the whistleblower. But the timing is quite a coincidence.

What could such a meeting be about? Fox has reported that Biden is being investigated for two misdemeanor tax filing charges, a felony tax evasion charge, and a false statement charge over a gun purchase. Now when defense attorneys and prosecutors meet, it is sometimes about a plea deal, although we don’t even have formal charges yet in this matter and one source told Fox the meeting of parties next week was not necessarily a signal the U.S. Attorney was prepared to make a decision to charge him. They could be trying to find out where the prosecution is at this point, whether they are going to proceed or not, after all these years. That, we’d all like to know.

But even in the charges supposedly being considered, they don’t appear to pertain to Joe Biden or any of the real problematic issues in the laptop. It looks like they’re just looking at the things centered on Hunter, not the things that might pertain more to possible influence peddling. Does the Biden DOJ truly intend to ignore everything else? It will be fascinating to see what the whistleblower has to shed on that, and Garland.
