House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) on Wednesday announced that House Republicans are expanding their investigation into the alleged (obvious) cover-up of former President Joe Biden’s mental collapse, seeking closed-door interviews with five more former White House aides and advisors.
Comer requested closed-door transcribed interviews with former White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain, former de facto West Wing communications chief Anita Dunn, and longtime Biden advisors Bruce Reed, Mike Donilon, and Steve Ricchetti.
Incidentally, as I began to write this article, the logic problem-solving question popped into my head: "So what?" — meaning "What's next?" or "Then what?"
Where is this whole thing headed, given it's been beyond obvious for at least four years that Biden's cognitive state has been in steady decline, and that the White House did its damnedest to hide it?
In other words, hearings and investigations are one thing, while actions (including, in this case, legislation) are taken to ensure that "Bidenization" — attempting to gaslight American citizens into believing that a cognitively-vacant president is "sharp as at tack," and remains in office — can never again occur in the presidency, but I digress.
Comer said in his announcement:
The cover-up of President Biden’s mental decline is one of the greatest scandals in our nation’s history. These five former senior advisors were eyewitnesses to President Biden’s condition and operations within the Biden White House. They must appear before the House Oversight Committee and provide truthful answers about President Biden’s cognitive state and who was calling the shots.
The former officials are reportedly in the process of setting dates for their sit-downs with the committee — under the threat of subpoenas if they balk at the request.
And if the aforementioned senior advisors aren't truthful? Then what?
As my colleague Sister Toldjah reported on May 29, Dr. Kevin O'Connor, who was Biden's White House physician and attested annually to the former president's fitness for office, was among a previous group of Biden aides and advisors whom Comer summoned in May.

It's inconceivable that O'Connor wasn't fully aware of Biden's mental decline.
Here's more on Comer's plans:
Questioning by Comer’s staff is likely to touch on President Trump’s allegation that documents auto-signed during Biden’s tenure may have been approved without his knowledge — a contention that currently lacks solid evidence despite some former Biden aides finding the theory plausible.
Comer has not yet requested appearances by Biden’s final White House chief of staff, Jeff Zients, or Stef Feldman, Biden’s staff secretary from May 2023 through January of this year — and one of the few officials who had autopen privileges.
Although former presidents can assert executive privilege over their communications with advisers, the current White House occupant — Trump — is able to override such immunity from questioning.
So we wait.
We wait, not only for answers to questions like "What did Biden's doctor and top aides know, and when did they know it?" but also for answers to "How can Americans be assured that the worst scandal in U.S. presidential history is never repeated?"
Should we hold our breath? I doubt it.
We should be thrilled each and every day that Joe Biden is back home on the beach in Delaware and Kamala is wandering around somewhere in California.
