It doesn't seem like there are sane Democrats left at this point.
With so many of them embracing extremism from New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani to the demonizing of ICE, they are off the rails, bat guano nuts at this point.
That's also given license to the bad actors — the anti-ICE people who have been targeting agents in despicable attacks, such as the shootings in Texas at a detention center and a Border Patrol facility.

But there is one voice of sanity in the Democratic Party, at least when it comes to these issues. That's Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA), who seems disgusted with how unhinged his party has become.
Fetterman called the demonizing of ICE agents "absolutely unacceptable, terrible, awful." He said, "ICE agents are just doing their job, and, um, I fully support that." While some Democrats might want to abolish ICE or "treat them like criminals," Fetterman called that "inappropriate and outrageous." "ICE performs an important job for our nation," he exclaimed.
Fetterman also reiterated those thoughts on X.
That wasn't all. There are cowardly Democrats, including DNC Chair Ken Martin, welcoming in Mamdani.
But Fetterman has some thoughts on that as well. He said he didn't agree politically with "virtually any" Mamdani positions that he's heard about.
Then Fetterman dunked him into next week, "He's not even a Democrat, honestly."
He's right about that, at least in terms of what a Democrat is supposed to be, historically. So good on him for saying it.
Although now the problem is that the Democrats have gone so far left, it's not unusual for them to embrace such a radical. It's Fetterman who is the unusual one with at least a little bit of sense in today's Democratic Party. He's trying to bring them back to sense. However, it's not working so far. The fact that most of the Democrats like Martin are expressing support for Mamdani shows you how far gone they are; they're afraid of and controlled by their radical left. That's the only place where there's any energy, which is why they're careening into extreme actions. But that's a big reason why their approval is in the basement and they're being rejected by the American people.
